There are a very few 110 volt motors that are reversible, but most are not. If it is reversible there should be a wiring diagram on the nameplate or in the connector box to show you how to reverse it.
model numbers for pump would most likely help and pictures as well.
some pictures and explanation of how you have plumbing ran as well.
you might have an air lock, might not have pump primed, might be using smaller pipe that what is needed. might not have fittings tight or done properly. again pictures would help along with model number of pump. and possible pictures of wiring.
If the impeller is running backwards, your right, somehow your motor has Reversed
