These flower beds (rock gardens) are far from complete... lots more dirt and plants will be arranged. Hopefully, the rocks never have to be moved again!!!

Now if I only knew what to do with this last one. I can not budge it at all. Top of the list is dig a hole and plant it 6 feet under. Rolling it down hill is second (and maybe a bit more fun).... :dance1:

I guess that is the default... it's been there 2 years... It's not in the way, just looks weird (I guess it ties in the rock garden to the rest of the landscape). Gentlemen, we have a winner!!!!

If you can get it to budge, roll it into a "stone boat" I made one out of 3/4" plywood and 2x4s 8 years ago that I still use. It let me slide some large boulders from the field to where I wanted them and then I used a rock bar to lever them into place. This was all "BT" (before tractor). The EA grapple and the Kubota was the best thing I ever bought for rock stacking!

Here is what ya do...Move that Bluebird house and pole over by the Rock, kill all the grass around it, then put a "Ring" of mulch around them all, so when you mow you mow around the Ring and keep on keepin on....maybe some of those small bush lilacs to add color.

Wished it was Bluebirds... Swallows mainly... there are Bluebirds in other houses, just not this one. I stop cutting the grass just before this house so no problem there with it being in the way. What you see in the photo is not cut all year... only in Jan/Feb.

I don't know how much of that rock goes underground, but the biggest rock I've moved was way too big for my tractor so how I did it was....

-Work it until it was loose and rolled it over.
-Then I shoved the bucket under it, but because it was so heavy, I could not lift it at all.
-I then pushed it quite a distance until I got to a small hill and pushed it up the slope of the hill until it stuck part way up.
-Next I shoved the bucket under it again, working it until it rolled back down the hill and into the bucket.
-Now the rock was in the bucket but the bucket about a foot or two off the ground
-I could now back away with the rock in the bucket.

Not ideal but it worked.

What you see of the rock is what it is... it came out of our septic field. A 4x4 full size backhoe had trouble pushing it. I should have been standing next to it, it's 5.5 feet tall. Next time up there I'll get a better photo of it.

Granted my tractor is pretty small but it went into relief - push/pull/lift/curl.
