Yes, big wood can be a lot of work, but we just push those big rounds through the 4-way wedge,

pulling the top piece over backwards, back onto the splitters beam,

until the bigazzed piece is all split!

and you end up with a nice pile of splits,

Those splits sure are going to be NICE next winter!!

Every summer I would select a choice yule log for the family get together and it would be in the log holder next to the stove for several months... come Christmas Eve I would add it to the fire and it never fails to disappoint...

I guess seasoned outside for 18 months and then close proximity to the stove for several months really drys the oak... best fire of the year...

Well, today was the day, I finally got to it... lol Here's a couple picts...

First thing I did was to take a slab off the log, then a couple flitches and turn it,

Then I worked my way around it, grade sawing it as I went,

It did have a few pretty nice boards in it, but for the most part, it didn't make "top grade lumber", anyway here's the "tally",

These were the worst boards in the pile, I set them aside and cut them to 4' to be stickered separate,

BTW, I bought a new trailer a couple days ago, so I have another option to haul my tractor, or ? on, here it is,
