Well it finally happened, I flipped my tractor. Yesterday I was using my logging winch to move a recently cut tree from my yard when the log took a sudden roll on an incline and yanked the tractor over onto its side. It was with great fortune (and luck ) that no one or nothing was hurt other than a couple of scratches on the ROPS. After about an hour and a couple of winches I was able to get it back on all four tires like it is supposed to be.
It was a valuable lesson to pay closer attention and use caution with such a powerful tool. Luckily it happened close enough to home and enough tools to make the recovery a bit simpler.
It was just one of those days! Glad nobody got hurt and all is well again.

Glad nobody got hurt. Those split second things often are good/bad luck difference between life and death.

Cleaning ice off my windsheild ths winter and a power line snapped 1 pole down from where inwas standing. If ot snapped at the pole i was standing next to i probably wouldn't be here writing this. Stuff like that really helps a guy slow down amd think more.

Yup, the only thing that really got hurt was a bit of pride. The only other person around was son in law, and fortunately he was far enough away from the mayhem that he was in no danger. Stuff happens pretty fast sometimes.

Bob I saw you all over the evening news!
Kidding, sometimes an accident with nobody hurt and little to no damage is a good thing, I've had my share of them and close call's, and there's no better permanent learning tool. Glad to hear that you and your machine are OK:thumbsup:
and for this one, you are excused for no pics :drink:

Ya, the last thing on my mind at that time was taking pictures, looking back I kinda wish I had taken a few as a reminder. Not that a reminder is needed!

I guess it wasn't hydro-locked when you restarted it? Apparently, as I've learned on TBN, that's a thing. :confused3:

Glad you are ok. Out of curiosity, seat belt and ROPS up?

Edit: it just occurred to me that you probably were not in the seat. Nevermind.

Only spilled a couple of quarts of fuel and about a quart of oil. I let the tractor sit upright for a while before starting and after checking all fluid levels. Guess I got lucky with the "hydro lock" thing. I have also heard it is a real thing, just happy it did not happen to me. Had it back on it's wheels in about 40 min to 1hr, quite surprised and happy that a 2000 lb elec. winch and a come-a-long righted it.

Now i'm going to have to search TBN for hydro lock.

Glad you and the machine are all right
