Hi!
The muffler on my 1982 1700 has rotted off at the elbow. You can remove the entire muffler assembly off of the elbow, which is still in good shape. The guy who does my welding says it will just break off again, since he can't do anything but weld on the outside sheet metal.
I have checked with my New Holland dealer, and mufflers for the 1700 are just not available anymore. All of the aftermarket offerings I can find are Stanley made FO-35s. Problem is, the dimensions given on the Stanley website for the elbow, won't allow the muffler assembly to clear both the hood and the loader frame (too close or to far away).
If I could find an appropriate straight muffler, that I could clamp to my elbow, it would work fine. That, or buy the FO-35, and cut the elbow off and use my elbow (hate to pay for parts I just cut off).
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
