It's basically a wireless internet modem that works with att cell service.

It outputs wifi but you can connect certain routers via the USB port if you need wired Ethernet connections.

The device is designed for cars but can be used anywhere with adapters.

Mobley is the brand name of a product that provides mobile hot spot service. Basically a non-phone Internet connection that can be used wherever you get cell service. Similar to signing up for Comcast, Mediacom, CentryLink DSL, etc, except that the device is mobile and can provide an Internet connection anywhere you can get AT&T cell service. Because it comes with an 'unlimited' data plan it is fast becoming a great solution for people in rural areas with good cell signal but few options for hard-wired Internet access. There are many other types of hot spots, but the Mobley is designed to be plugged into a vehicle and provide mobile Internet. That means that in order to use it in a house you need some non-standard things like an OBD-II connector power supply. It also helps to connect the Mobley to a USB-capable router to provide better wi-fi connectivity to the device's Internet connection.

If you have more questions feel free to ask...

I just think the UI is bad or maybe even buggy. Not bad enough to muck with it or anything that serious. Like I said, it works easy and works well.

So, I learned some more about the advanced "mode" (luci). Mmmm, much more gooder.
I'm working on getting my network cleaned up. Slowly of course, as splitting wood comes first.

The Mobley has a phone number, so I think it would show up on the Message screen, but I haven't tried it, since I am old and don't text. :D

I did have two messages from AT&T on my screen that I read and deleted right after I got it set up.

Is anybody using this with Skype or some other VOIP service? I work at home and pay through the nose for a max of 8mbs. It is slow but reliable.

Mobley sounds great but I have to have reliable service.

That remains to be seen. :D

Let us know if it works.

Can someone send a text to their Mobley phone number, to see if it shows up in "Messages"?
