International 444 (1968 British model) Power Steering Cylinder

Hi all,
I need to replace the power steering cylinder for our tractor. The cylinder is one of those with the directional control valve built into it. It hasn't worked for years and basically renders the tractor useless without it. we took it into a hydraulics repair shop and they told us it wasn't repairable. Also, we had a North American wide search for the replacement part (3072695R91) and absolutely nothing came up. I don't have a picture off our tractor but found one of the same unit in another related thread on this site (thanks DickC!):

So our only option seems to be to replace it with a similar unit (aftermarket or used) from another make/model of farm equipment, assuming a similar design was used on other equipment of the same era.

Does someone have any ideas for us, either used part # or idea for a retrofit, etc.?

This will be the least expensive option.

But you will need to change your rod ends and brackets etc.
Anadolu makes kits for the style you have shown in the picture, but the cost will be more to get the cylinder.

You must put aside the aspect of dealing with the Turks! ;-)

I've spent too much time looking for a power steering retrofit for my Fordson E27n ;-)

I think we'll try the first option. The price seems quite reasonable, even given that some of the items that are included (pump, tank) aren't needed since the tractor has those components already. It's just the cylinder and any components that attach to the tie rod end and tractor frame that we'll need. I think Dad will be thrilled even just knowing that there is a chance that this could work. I'm sure between the two of us we should be able to retrofit it into place. Again, thanks so much for your feedback!

I see that hydraulic pump being offered on ebay for $300. That's a bit spendy for a cheap pump, but just shows you might get some of your money back from the kit.

but for 20 bucks you get the pump and all the "fittings" that may come in handy for some other project ;-)
