Oil & Fuel Fuel dribbling at injector on Yanmar 3110D - bad injector pump? (video)

Did you blow through the injector line toward the pump or into the injector pump? If you blew through the injector pump I would say something is amuck in there. I have an old pump off a 2002D that I changed because of a broken housing, went out and I can not blow through any outlet.

Through the line from the injector toward the pump with both ends disconnected.

I took the end off with the plunger for #1 on the pump and cleaned it with carb cleaner. After I put it back together and did a crank test none of them would work. Second crank test only #2. With the spotty working vs not it seems the pump is shot.

Are you positive you are getting a good flow of diesel to the pump with no air? Just don't sound right to me that your pump just quit working. I would encourage you to fill the tank and bleed, bleed, bleed, in the correct order.

Have you tried pressurizing the fuel tank & getting someone to spin the engine??

check that the rubber line from tank to filter, and from filter to injector pump is good. I have seen them collapse inside and limit fuel flow. Anything's worth a shot

Long shot, but I have seen it with big rigs before... Check your fuel line from tank to filter & make sure you don't have a blockage. Just listening to it crank, it sounds healthy, looking for blockage or air.

Hello dunderw. I recommend you start your trouble shooting at the fuel tank.
1) fill the tank up all the way. This helps the gravity feed.
2) You should have a steady continuous stream of diesel. If it seems weak ,or is a dribble then you have a restriction at the fuel tank.( I suspect you may have a "floating" crap situation where the crap drifts around the bottom of the tank and intermittantly blocks the outlet. I had this problem on my MF135.)
3) repeat step 2 at the fuel filter
4) repeat step 2 at each stage between the fuel filter and the injector pump.
5) Open the bleeder screws on the injector pump then start pumping. As the fuel comes out each bleeder screw in a solid stream lightly tighten it and move to the next.
6)When you get to the injector fuel pipes, connect tight at the injector pump( you said you removed them) and loose on 2 injectors and tight on 1 injector, This will allow the air to escape and the engine will try to run on one cylinder when you crank it over. If you have a significant airlock problem in the injector pump you may need to loosen the tight injector and tighten one of the loose injector pipes. Once you are running on 1 cylinder then tighten up the 2 loose injector pipes. As you tighten the last pipe the smoothed out engine note will be music to your ears.
Good luck.

We've had tons of rain so a hard time getting back to it but I did this evening.

I drained all the fuel and then ran some new fuel in the tank to flush. I even used a grapper and paper towels to try and clean some inside. It appeared pretty clean looking at it with a flashlight down inside.

I then followed the bleed procedure from Hoye's site.

I was able to get some shots out of all 3 of the lines where I had them disconnected from the injectors.

I connected the lines back to the injectors and attempted to crank at full throttle. No dice😦 but it sounds different, like it is trying to crank?
I made a video:

Yanmar YM 3110D Crank Attempt After Fuel Line Bleed - YouTube

I swear I'd just take it somewhere at this point but without it cranking I can't even load it.
