Cellular Game Camera suggestions

Yes, as far as i know i never signed a contract. I've been with covert since 2013 and the older camera used an at&t go phone SIM card. The camera went bad about a year ago and I got the new version which has build in 4g service and it works great. They have different plans to choose from. The cameras are fairly expensive, but it works and works good. Well worth the monthly fee. I caught game wardens checking for dove baiting and they deleted their picture off the card, but it had already sent it to my phone.

Did you confront them?

DNR pisses me. Would be like polling you over, for no reason. Supreme Court may not agree, but I believe it violates 4th Amendment.

If they were not such jerks sportsman may help them. But I don't care if you got deerskin lampshade, I am not calling DNR.

I have a Spartan GoCam and it has worked pretty well. I rigged up an external battery so I don't have to mess with the batteries as often. They are battery hogs.

I have been running the Bushnell cameras for a year and a half. After HCO and Covert crashing the Bushnell has been trouble free. For 10.00 per month you can have unlimited amount of cameras on the same plan. They have an app for your cell phone and they text or e-mail photo to you. Battery usage is fair, but I have the Bushnell solar battery on one camera I use for RV surveillance so I don't worry about batteries dying. The only draw back is you can't send them a text to take a picture like some brands can.

Would be interessting, but doubt I want to spend the money. Long range bluetooth or such, so you don't have to walk up to it, would be nice.

Check local laws. I illegal in some states.

I've been saying for years that there should be a way for multiple cameras to send data to a central box where you can download the pictures from one place. Kind of like the buckeye system but not nearly as elaborate. Spypoint tried this one time and it was a failure, but I think the box was only compatible with a single camera (after my experience with them nearly 10 years ago, as far as I'm concerned anything spypoint makes is a failure).

I'm confused. Someone please enlighten me. Does one require a separate cell contract for such a camera?

To clarify. You have a remote property and want a battery operated game camera that takes a picture to SIM card as the others do, but E-Mails you via Cellular network. Does it send you the picture or just notification? What is the monthly cost?

I have never heard of such a thing. For one thing, a cell transceiver uses power. Is it possibly solar powered?

There are a few different flavors. Some you have to have a separate plan for, some you can add onto an existing plan as an additional device. The original ones only texted and emailed. Some of the newer ones upload to a web server and you can view the pics with an app or a web site. The buckeye system that was mentioned earlier can be used without any cell service, the cameras communicate with each other and a home base as long as they are within range.

We have a Bushnell. They used the AT&T cell network and cost was $10 a month. It notifies you when it activates and sends you a snapshot. You can cancel anytime.

I just use three 6V game feeder batteries that you can get at Walmart. They must be wired in parallel. I used a plastic ammo can from Harbor Freight and bought the cable from HCO. I believe HCO lists the parts you'll need if you want to make your own cable. They sell the cable and it wasn't that expensive as I recall. I recharge them using a 6 V battery charger. 20170606_172507.jpg20170606_172519.jpg20170606_172532.jpg20170606_172814.jpg
