So to access some of my land I have a short road trek. Returning on it I noticed my front tires were leaving marks on the road. The front tires were well worn when I bought it and was planning on replacing but it appeared something was wrong.

When I got back I parked it after driving straight so wheels should be straight forward. What I found was both tires are toed out hard, I mean inches. A quick look at the steering linkage I found the bar (tie rod?) connecting the two wheel hubs on the back side is bowed backwards, IE Bent. I'm assuming this is the issue.

My question is how hard is that to replace?

Is there a documented process to align the wheels after I replace it?

Where can I buy that part online? I just want to compare the cost to my not so local dealer.

Thanks

~ Phil

I've bent them before and just hammered them straight then aliened the wheels with a tape measure.

I have a TC35A. The "Front Wheel Toe-in ' instructions are on page 3-28 of the Operator's manual.

Hi i was wondering if that could be done. Curious if it rebends again easily.

What is it made of? If metal i was wondering about welding a peice of angle iron on it.

Probably hit a stump or something without knowing it. Hammer it straight on an anvil or RR track section and reinstall: won't be hard. Very likely hollow like a pipe. I wouldn't beef it up - then you'll break something else. Jim

Hadnt thought stiffening it up could lead to breaking something else. I suspect i bought it like this and didnt notice it. Ive really only been on my tote roads so far. Thanks

So i looked at it and im curious on the tie rod ends do they just noly on or is it a angle fit like and will need a ball joint fork to pop them off?

Thanks. Phil

A fork would most likely work best less chance of damaging the nut or threads if you were to just loosen the nut and use a hammer. Using a vice works quite well for straightening.

So I jacked it up before it got dark to get it ready to tackle tomorrow and gave it a look over. It appears besides the bent connecting rod the mount for the ball joint on the left side is worn out, appears maybe the nut is not on tight and it could wiggle. See videos

Hard to see but it looks like the mount is a separate part that can be replaced I need to look it up. I need to use the tractor so I think Ill straighten the rod and get the other part on order and replace later unless someone can tell me I'm missing something..

Thanks
