Funny how something that's a dealer issue turns into a free-for-all pile on b*tch-fest on a manufacturer...

Popping and stalling sounds like a fuel issue, like the choke is partially engaged. My Kawasaki engine (Husky, like everyone else, is but an integrator- one has to look at who is manufacturing the major components) will make a horrendous backfiring noise (which is what it's doing) if it's shut down at high throttle; one would think that there's a problem here but there is not: this is a professional grade/level engine).

I realize that sometimes it's tough to have patience with dealers, but it does no good to get into a pissing match with one. Best to approach matters as though there's a partnership in which the both of you are working together to resolve an issue.

Oh yeah, do NOT buy chainsaws from Big Box stores. Also only buy professional grade ones if you want the saw to last.

FYI, lots of the lower end machines are made by MTD and re branded. Husky and even Deere are not exempt from this practice.
MTD is owned by either Ariens or Toro and I believe the ownership chain goes all the way to Singer which in turn filters down to many chain saw brands.

That Singer 'family tree' is quite impressive with many interconnections.

Thanks - and yes i did try very hard to deal with the dealer and bought it from said dealer. he just has one arrogant snippy attitude. felt that the morning i sent to buy it. i have a husky chainsaw that has cut a lot of firewood and has overall been good but is ready to call it quits without major reworking which means - not worth it compared to buying a new one. next time a serious echo.

i took to husky because the dealer was useless and a real jerk. substitute - 'male organ' here. end of my rap. thanks again guys!

Husky makes different grades of saw's. Some may be assembled elsewhere for emissions reasons. If they want to sell in China they have to build in China.

The pro models may only be purchased through a licensed dealer.

I used to have a Toro ZTR with a Kohler engine that would do the same thing. It would even backfire at lower throttle settings. The manual said to shut it down at half throttle or less. It would still backfire. But I learned to pull the throttle back to idle, then shove it wide open and turn off the key before it could get revved up, and it never backfired if you did that.

I frequently see people mention how back Poulan products are, and I don't even like the looks of their mowers. But in years past I've owned 2 Poulan chain saws and never had a reason to complain about either of them. But of course that was many years ago.

And that brings up a point for folks to keep in mind- everything is constantly change. Very rare that a manufacturer is the same as what one recalls from "years past." I've never been someone to hang on to a brand. Every time I go to get something I research it (usually to-death:laughing:).

I have two Husqvarna power heads, one was given to me by a friend who didn't need it anymore. They both start and run fine. The issue with both is that the various attachments that I use with them are very short lived. That is irritating and costly. The cable inside the shafts are junk quality.
I finally bought a Stihl last year, that wasn't cheap either, but should have more durability.

This is very true. Craftsman is a good example. Used to be 40yrs ago their socket sets were the choice next to Snap On. Now a rachet will break much more easily. Had to replace a 1/2" drive three times due to the spur inside failing.

Same can be said for most major brands we grew up with. Hvac units are another good example. Three dealers told me the new units have 10yr life expectancy compared to the thirty and forty year old units they are replacing.
It doesn't pay to make things last for decades when you can sell a new one every few years.

Having dealt extensively with Husqvarna-Electrolux I can say that they have a problem with their corporate culture and don't value their customers.

My suspicion is that dealers are put in a difficult position because H-E doesn't support them either.
