Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

It works, but not very far at all.. I put ours in the hallway with the transmitter about 50 feet away. Goes through one outside wall and 50ft was the farthest I could put it. By the time it rang, I could hear the delivery truck anyways.

Good thing I found, though, was that at 10:10pm every night, deer were walking down my drive :)

I could likely deal with that range. Although I suspect I would find at 10:10 p.m. I had wild Turkeys in the yard. Sadly the animal not the booze.

Anyone use their Wireless Security Alert System

Our house is situated such that we do not hear/see when people come into the drive. I'd like to be alerted. Amazon has similar for about 50% more.

I have a number of them. They work good but everything walking through their path will make them go off. Just a thought if you want to use more than one buy the ones with the same code numbers on the back of the box. That way you only need one receiver. Keep your eyes open when they're on sale. You can them pretty cheap.

I ended up picking up a 10 pack of 4 1/2" 1/4" metal grinding wheels and a 10 pack of the cut off wheels two weekend's ago. Yesterday I got to try them out and they seam to work just fine. I have a small (4x6) trailer that's too narrow for the new lawn mower. Since that's the trailer's only real purpose in life I decided to make it a foot wider. Lots of metal/ welds to cut and grind. Only used 3 cut off wheels and just one 1/4" wheel (which still has plenty of life in it). The next time I drive by a HF I'll pick up a few more 10 packs.
I use the cutoff wheels all the time including the little ones for the air cutoff tool. They work as well as any I've bought elsewhere.

I really don't see much performance difference with their flap discs and grinder wheels and more expensive brands, especially for the cost.

I picked up one of the 3-ton low-profile floor jacks Saturday. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but they seem to get pretty good reviews.

I have one that is a couple years old. It works fine for lifting, but leaks down a lot more than it should. It will go all the way down if left overnight.

I've got two of these and maybe five years old. They work as advertised and I like them. Typical HF in that one leaks a little and one never leaked. Heavy.

Mine doesn't leak any oil, it just won't hold the height setting. The leak is fairly slow, maybe 1" per hour, and weight on it doesn't seem to make much difference. I don't think it is the cylinder because no oil gets out so I guess it must be the valve seal that is leaking.

I actually have three of the heavy steel jacks and have decided to sell them for another aluminum jack. Life is so much easier with a lightweight jack .

No harbor freight in Canada but we have Canadian Tire that seems to carry similar products.
Every now and again they offer packs of cut off disks at prices that you forget wanting oxy acteline torches.
Very popular are the thin ones.

I also got a few 10 packs of the 1/16" cutoff discs on sale for $5.99 with coupon

Local hardware stores sells them $2.00 each

That's what I get too or 3 for $5 :D

If it is of interest to anyone Milwaukee tool markets those Steelhead Diamond cutoff blades and one single blade outlasts dozens of abrasive grit wheels (up to 75 they say) with no loss of diameter and won't break apart either. The 4 1/2 size is only is only $14.49 at ACME Tool. I recently bought one to try. Definitely worth the money
