Yea, I've always done things the hard way for lots of years. I'm finally starting to wake up and spend a little cash to make my life easier. Last year loading hay by hand I nearly died from heat exhaustion. Told my wife we gotta do something different. Right now I'm happy with different.

#1 without question is my $500 48" "lightweight" grapple from Millonzi. Going on 12 years of abuse and has battle scars but works perfectly still.
#2 Woods BH90x. We have a private community water system that springs leaks each year and the BH has save many hours and many backs. It also, when equipped with a ripper, has helped remove many dozens of trees with minimal ground disturbance.
#3 Caroni TM1900 flail mower. Does the job and saves worry about throwing projectiles near houses and children.
#4 a simple FEL tree boom. Use it as a crane.

Ed,
You know how to play, that's all I can say.

So this is a new hay toy I mean tool. First use was today and I can say I'm glad I bought it. What a time and BACK saver.

Very cool device. What do they call those things? Do you pick up bales individually or are the bales all lined up together before you scoop them up? Can you "dump" them neatly right on the trailer or does a person need to organize the trailer stacking?

It's called a "Rocky Mountain Bale Sweep".
So basically you drive through the field and just pick them up where they fell of the baler. I think if a person has a deck over trailer it would work better than one like I have. (with small sides) Mine needed a little organizing after placing them on the trailer. My wife said we need a new/better trailer for getting hay. But I'm only moving the hay from the field to the barn.
If you google the name they have some video's of them in action.
