Here's a Don't Suck. I was using the one in the kitchen and thought about this thread.

It works, but not very far at all.. I put ours in the hallway with the transmitter about 50 feet away. Goes through one outside wall and 50ft was the farthest I could put it. By the time it rang, I could hear the delivery truck anyways.

Good thing I found, though, was that at 10:10pm every night, deer were walking down my drive :)

Funny, I was going to say essentially that...^

Including the fact that it seemed to pick up deer way better than vehicles.

I also got a few 10 packs of the 1/16" cutoff discs on sale for $5.99 with coupon

Local hardware stores sells them $2.00 each

That's what I get too or 3 for $5 :D

If it is of interest to anyone Milwaukee tool markets those Steelhead Diamond cutoff blades and one single blade outlasts dozens of abrasive grit wheels (up to 75 they say) with no loss of diameter and won't break apart either. The 4 1/2 size is only is only $14.49 at ACME Tool. I recently bought one to try. Definitely worth the money

BTW- I just looked [and bought one] there for $11 [+shipping] because they have a 20% off Milwaukee sale going on now- and it's at least close to 2x as much [as the $14.50] every where else I looked.

I, too have suggested these in the past but I have since discovered that some of them wear out very quickly. I don't know where the diamond abrasives go but some of these sharpeners lose their ability to sharpen over time. Not all of them but some of them. Beats me.

Anyone use their Wireless Security Alert System

Our house is situated such that we do not hear/see when people come into the drive. I'd like to be alerted. Amazon has similar for about 50% more.

I bought/used one to detect when our Corgi came up on the back porch so we could let her in. Worked very well and she would patiently wait outside for us to open the door.

I sure miss her :bawling:

Oh, and there's a 25% off coupon for July 4th.

I have recommended this before but after using it today on some nasty trailer lug nuts, would like to suggest it again. This is the composite Earthquake Extreme XT 1/2" impact wrench. It's light as a feather but really packs a punch. I have no way to determine actual torque but it took off some nuts in a flash that I figured would be a struggle. I can never go back to the old and heavy earlier versions. This is the best.

Anyway, you've got to buy it on "sale" and it frequently is offered with a coupon. This is a Harbor Freight "best buy" and I would say rates right up there with the rolling red tool chests.

Re the Diamond Hone Block shown above - Recently I sharpened the rotary cutters from my Norelco shaver on that.

I bought new cutters off Ebay then thought I would try sharpening the old cutters - if this ruined them, so what?

It worked so well that I put the sharpened old cutters back in use. The shaver works like new.

Tip - slide the cutters across the diamond 'stone' by hand, rotating occasionally. I tried to spin them with the shaver and every attempt tossed them to the floor.

Hi 6-dogs,

I just bought the regular EarthQuake with a $75-ish coupon after the Memorial day w/e.

I thought I remembered that the recent word of mouth about it has been pretty good too???

Would it be worth the price difference to upgrade just for general use on my cars- mainly doing tire rotations and brake jobs?

Or is the regular EarthQuake reasonably decent too?

I don't really know if I'll need 1200 ft/lb's [at least not most of the time].

Thx,
T

PS: What was the best "with coupon" price you've seen on it?:
