Which John Deere?

Reading me all wrong, Schnauzer! To be honest I didn't pay attention to the color of the thread... guess I should have?

I have green and orange and a couple others. All my point was that maybe don't rule out brands first vs. figuring out your needs then looking at your options. Generally there are NOT similar machines in one brand. The brand that might suit you for particular size/function-ability might not suit others. That is why there are choices in the market! Some sensitive green owners here on the green forum I guess!

Still say remove your color blinders and look at your real needs first and then select brand. Other way around and you have one choice once you figure the right tool.

Just curious, how would you react to some one posted on the Kubota forums with a green tractor telling some one to "look around" when they clearly specified that they were looking at orange tractors? Not sensitive, just wondering your motives. I figured you for a troll. Now I am guessing you are bored?

If you've never had a loader on a tractor, you will be amazed at how useful and essential it is. I joke and say that it's saved thousands of miles on my wheelbarrow, but think of everything you move that you can't or would rather not carry in your arms. The FEL is a tremendous advantage and that's not even considering the digging, smoothing etc capability.

Very true. I had never had one until I bought my 75E. I'll never buy another small tractor without one.

Sorry... I wish I could take it back... as I said earlier, when I posted I did not bother to look at the particular forum and just thought it odd to narrow down brand first and was thinking I was making a positive contribution. If you knew me or are familiar with my postings on TBN, you might read me differently.

I rarely choose brand first for the reasons earlier stated and attempt to keep an open mind on what is new. Peace my friend... I can see you are a proud green owner. Me too. JD was the first tractor I ever purchased.

LOL!!! No problem! I understand and point taken! We all make mistakes.

I have a picture somewhere of me on my father's Oliver if you want another flavor!!! :licking:

Like I have said, I choose as far as the closest support and quality of that support. I live 20 minutes from the JD dealer, 30 minutes from the IH Case dealer, an hour from a New Holland and Kubota dealer.

Some one also said to look around and see what was around in the area. They live in an orange world I guess. Look around here and it is a sea of green. ;)

Sea of green around here also. Tractors, Combines, Sprayers etc. I see a couple of large Case units in the fields, maybe 2 yellow combines. About the only blue are the VT units fitted with bucket and large snowblower. Don't recall seeing any of either orange version working in the fields. JD stores all over, the others not so much. The local JD store puts out about 40 - 50 6xxx / 7xxx series every fall with snowpushers for parking lot work and then sells them next spring.

Without Cinder's location in his/her profile, we don't know where "around here" may be at.. ;)

Good time to update the profile..

Around Here is not far from Up Home, although both are more than a few miles from Upper Midwest.
