Hi All,

I am looking to make up a manifold to bolt a directional solenoid valve to the 3rd remote hydraulics on the back off my Kubota L4600. I want to make a wireless setup for use with log splitters, winches, wire reeler etc.

Can someone please tell me what the By in the circuit diagram stands for? Is it blocked off when any valve is actuated?

Thanks,
John

I want to see if this will work Untitled2.png

The By port is the power beyond port on that valve. You could also connect the P- port of of solenoid valve to this port.

What is the direction of flow for the By port? I assumed the arrows indicated it was come from the Pump (P) to the By.

Thanks for that.

Cheers,
John

Yes, the flow will be out the By port. I Suspect the By stands for By-pass.

If it is a bypass im not sure the setup I showed in my second picture will work. As the flow will tend to take the path of least resistance, flowing down the bypass rather the going through what ever is attached to the solenoid valve.

One option I thought of was to use a tandem centre valve, instead of closed centre, with the Tank return T hooked up to the Bypass By port. Although, a problem would arise if the manual valve was actuated whilst the solenoid valve was in operation.

Your tractor is open center and you need the by fitting for it to work. The T port well then be the return for the work ports only.

Getting confused now...

Leejohn - When one of the 3rd manual valves is actuated is the By port blocked off? I.e. Does the flow go from P - through work cylinder- back to tank T?

and when the maunal valves are closed the flow is bypassed? I.e flow goes from P directly back through By?

Yes if you open all the way, if only half open the over flow go out the by port.

when the maunal valves are closed the flow is bypassed. I wouldn't say it's bypassed it flows straight thru to the next valve.

I Think you should feed the electric valve from the by of the manual. If the electric valve is feed 1st it well shut all oil going to the manual valve when switched one way.

What does the By port connect to today? Lee john is correct if the is an open center system then the By port must be connected to something to operate correctly.
