1952 Ford 8N w/side mount distributor will not start

I have a 1952 ford 8n tractor with side mount distributor. It will not start. There is fire at the points but but at the plugs. New wires, distrubutor cap, plugs with gap verified .025. Everything checks good before points. I have read many posts regarding no fire but have not found an answer.

We have determined there is spark to new plugs but still no start.

You need a correctly timed spark, compression, and the correct air/fuel mixture.

We did verify spark order. Has new coil, distributor cap, points, plugs, and wires, condenser, & carburetor.

Does it kick over if you spray ether into the air intake?

Does the 8n still have the positive ground system? That means the positive side of the coil should be hooked to the points.

A neg ground system has the neg side of the coil hooked to the points.

If it is backwards, you still may have spark but it will be weak.
