I noticed this is your first post, so welcome to TractorByNet :welcome:
There are a few folks here that have the R322T.
There aren't any that I know of, who have replaced an older Swedish Rider with a newer Swedish Rider.
It's great to have someone new on board with a history in using these articulating machines.

I got my R322Ts last year, so have very limited experience with these Swedish Riders, but so far I like them very much.
It's encouraging, at least to a new owner like myself, to see someone replacing their old articulating machine for a newer one.
I'm guessing the Rider 16 must have treated you pretty well for you to replace it with another articulating Rider ?

Thanks for the welcome. The Rider 16 has been a good machine. We have run it hard and it's held up pretty well. We are looking forward to using the new AWD model and a true mulching deck. I blocked our current side discharge deck and replaced the blades so it did a pretty good job mulching. We considered the 220T that is widely discounted but wanted the mulching deck and AWD.

How many years have you had the Rider 16, and did you use it for other task besides mowing ?

We've mowed with it for 10 years. Good machine but got stuck a few times. AWD should be better.

I'm reading this thread to get more info on these Swedish machines. I've seen the UK models and prices, and both diesel models sport Kubota engines, and the mid-model uses a Kawasaki engine, (gas).
I converted the MSRP on the biggest diesel and it was $27,xyz dollars!!!
Man, I'd love to have the diesel 5 series European market mower, but what a price, even for pro grade.

Update: After doing a LOT more research on these mowers I ordered one today.
It will take a couple of weeks to get to my dealer. If anyone is interested in the 'scoop' on these mowers there is a 108 page thread over on MTF, (my tractor forum) that details several years of use cutting grass, snowblowing and flail mower use on these machines.

Hi gang,

New to this forum, and am thinking about a used Husky R322T from a dealer (though I don't think it's a Husqvarna dealer; haven't gotten out there to look at it yet). He thinks it's 3-4 years old, has 75 hours on it, and says it seems to be in great shape. The price is very low, considering the 5k new-unit sticker. I'd rather have the smaller combi deck (my yard isn't huge, and I like to mulch), but it has the larger deck with a mulch kit installed. Will take up a little more room in the garage, but can live with that.

This thread goes back a ways - great stuff, which I really appreciate - so just wondering if anyone has updates to their experience a few years down the road from purchasing.

Thanks!

This link below is to another forum which has a very long thread (2278 posts) all discussing the Husky R322T.
I suggest starting at the very last post and work your way towards the first post.
A few owners of the R322T have had some issues with their R322T, and the more recent posts cover some of those problems.

To give you some info - I have had transmission issues ever since I got it. I think there may have been some sort of recall, but don't quote me on it. It seems to run ok now, but I would recommend asking the dealer to get some more background info on the model.

I am considering the R322T. I want to pull a disc, is this rated for ground engagement? Is the transmissions maintainable? Is the Briggs motor good?

I can't really answer your questions. Briggs makes good engines,,, and poor ones. But I just ordered this machine from our locale dealer and like to hear from users as well.. The dealer had sold some of these but didn't stock this model but they'd bring one it if we'd like to see it.

I went to this site which has a 158 page thread, concerning these mowers. So I Read a few of the opening pages, a few in the middle, then the last few pages and could not find anything that was overly negative. 158 pages of chat is just to big to search through.

Here is a link to a thread on another tractor site that discusses the R322T.
The thread has over 2300 posts on it, and started back in August 2012.
Some very good info for anyone thinking about getting a R322T.

There were some bulletins that Husqvarna released that addressed oil leakage problems on the front transmission and a creeping forward issue on some rear transmissions when the forward/reverse pedal was in the neutral position.
I believe there is at least one R322T owner, on that R322T thread, that had the front transmission changed out.

I had a creeping rear transmission on one of my R322T machines, it did not worry me, but the transmission's serial number was within the range of possible problem transmissions, so I had my Husqvarna dealership change it out for me. As it turns out, the replacement transmission also creeps a little.
I've had previous garden tractors with hydro transmissions which would creep too (two- Wheel Horse 416-H).

There was some issues with broken blade brakes.
I removed the blade brake on both of my R322Ts.
The blade brakes would engage while I was using my Agri-Fab two stage snow blower, causing the drive belt to the snow blower to overheat until was smoking.
I've since sold my snow blower, and never re-installed the blade brake. My mower blades stop rotating as soon as I disengage power to the mower even without the blade brake.

Hi. I am having a significant belt issue. I have gone through 3 belts since last summer and the mower just now broke 100 hours. It is the main drive belt (I think) that gets eaten all the time (Part ID # 535 41 19-01 or 544 40 02-01 from the catalog). It is the belt from the rear to the front of the mower.

My local dealer has repeatedly said that these are bad mowers and there is no way to fix this issue. I truly believe that all they want me to do is buy a newer mower instead of fixing what I got. The problem is the next closest dealer is about an hour away and I do not have a trailer (yet).

Also, I cannot find a manual that can provide me a step-by-step of how to replace it myself.

I'm looking for any advice on what could be the problem, what to look for, or a fix will be greatly appreciated! I can no longer deal with the dealership and need to figure out how to fix the mower myself.

Dealers are good but why don't you just call the manufacturer. They may be able to help more than a dealer who just wants to sell a new one.
