In the "General Settings" of one's TBN profile, under "Message Editor Interface", there is an option to choose which of three types of formatting you get when composing and editing posts/messages:

1. Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing
2. Basic Editor - A simple text box
3. Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls

The following text appears below the options:

When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.

The above explanation is somewhat misleading/confusing, in that the fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor actually appears first in the list.

I always choose the Standard Editor on boards like this because I want access to all the controls and I want to be able to see the formatting code.

So whenever I quote someone this is what I see in the post/message composition box ... except that brackets [] show up where the parenthesis () appear below:

(QUOTE=k0ua;4807928)I think people just type in the word snip to let you know this is just a snippet of a full quote.(/QUOTE)

... which allows one to dissect a post into various points someone has made, and respond to each point individually and specifically.

The upside of WYSIWYG editor interface is also it's downside: you don't get to see the formatting code.

Ironciall enough last nights devotion was on Luke 6:37

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

Although I don't believe our justice is the final decision, I do struggle with just letting God deal with some men that seem to have pure evil in their hearts and take delight in the suffering of others.

And for those of you that always wanted to multiquote, but were too afraid to ask:

on the first post you want to multiquote, press the multiquote button down at the bottom of each post that looks like a "thought balloon" with a + symbol near it. This button is just to the right of the "reply with quote" button.

So press the same button of the next post you wish to quote and repeat as many times as you like until you get to the last post you wish to quote and on this one just press the "reply with quote" button. It and all the previous posts you "multiquoted" will now appear in your reply box below.
I thought I heard someone talking about me............

Well, well...

I'll be danged:laughing:

That said, I'm still a idiot, and if I don't repeat it a couple of times back to back, good chance I'll forget it:eek:

That must make me only half an idiot, I can usually understand and remember a 2 step process.

If people's expectations are low, it's easier to far surpass them compared to when those same expectations are high:D

This is what you would call a View attachment 514173:D

I remember that train wreck. Some guy took my chainsaw out of my car while I was putting the shopping cart back in the cart corral, as the guy ran away with my $400.00 chainsaw, I knew I couldn't catch him because of my ingrown toenail. So I jumped in my 1968 Ford Mustang 390 GT 2+2 Fastback, put the petal to metal, as the guy ran over the train tracks heading toward his partners in another car. I was right behind him and as I approached the tracks, the train engineer saw me coming like a bat out of heaven and he slammed on the train brakes just missing me, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw the train crashing. I finally ran the guy down, but he manage to pass the chainsaw to his partners in a black Dodge Charger.

The the purse snatching chainsaw thief was taken to the local hospital with only minor injuries and wants to sue me for $500.k for pain and suffering and the state of North Carolina is pressing charges against me, I'm facing 10 years in jail if caught, but atleast I got my chainsawsaw back. The N. C. police say they have this video of me chasing the crooks,>>>>>> Bullitt - The Chase (part 1) - YouTube

Hey, even I know if you spent $400 for a chain saw, and the place you bought it from had shopping carts and a cart corral, you were probably robbed one way or another from the get go:D

Now... we all KNOW you're spoofing us. Ain't no 1968 Mustang 390 GT 2+2 Fastback ever going to catch up with that Mighty Dodge Charger! But - if you ever think about trying that again you might want to do something about that wheel hop. And maybe some traction bars would help too.

Good story though :)

It wasn't deadly force. He lived, didn't he?

Probably wanna check out the definition of deadly force in AL law.

I suspect that it will be defined as force which has the potential to cause death ... rather than by the actual outcome.

A car driven to intentionally hit someone is just as deadly as trying to shoot them with a gun isn't it?

Been a while since I watch the video, but I believe she hit him head on and just didn't try to "clip him". That said, I don't think anyone can argue that she wasn't pissed off (not that anyone wouldn't be given the circumstances).

As rswyan mentioned before, at BEST, her life will be under scrutiny now. If by chance she were a single mother expecting another child, her actions will play a role in how the state looks at her. That's best case, worst case, well, it can get a lot worse for her. Thing is, if she would of done nothing, she would of been the victim and no magnifying glass would be cast over her.

Any good lawyer is going to point out that police use their vehicles to stop criminals all the time and the skill of such driving is not restricted to police officers. If you look at Larry's link, it clearly states she was justified in using physical force (section G).

(g) A private person acting on his own account is justified in using physical force upon another person when and to the extent that he reasonably believes it necessary to effect an arrest or to prevent the escape from custody of an arrested person whom he reasonably believes has committed a felony and who in fact has committed that felony, but he is justified in using deadly physical force for the purpose only when he reasonably believes it necessary to defend himself or a third person from what he reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of deadly physical force.

If using a vehicle was immediately considered deadly force, police wouldn't be so quick to knock a motorcycle off the road for nothing more than speeding/fleeing.

No it is not. Watch the video. She cleared stopped as she hit him to avoid running him over. Fact she hit the brakes shows her intent was to stop him. If she would have been in some sort of murderous rage, she would have ran him completely over, and perhaps backed over him.

Cops do this stuff all the time. You could shove someone to the ground as an attempt to stop them, they could also hit their head and die due to the fall. Just because a force results in death, doesn't immediately make it deadly force.

Here is the underlying animosity to the actions of the thief and the reason many members here have condoned the actions of the women.

We are "sick and tired" of the criminal justice system letting criminals go with a "slap on the wrist". We feel powerless when criminals are not punished by our failed criminal "justice" system. This all started over 50 years ago. As more and more liberal judges began being nominated and placed and elected into their positions.

In the old days a criminal who stole a woman's purse would have been run down and captured by a police officer would likely have been severely beaten during the arrest by the policeman's truncheon, thrown in jail and if found guilty been sentenced to a good stretch in prison. A purse snatcher at the time really offended our sensibilities, and Judges of the time reflected those feelings of the community. Case in point, both horse and cattle thieves were usually punished by hanging not that long ago.

Public hangings were the norm back in the day. We took crime seriously and punishment even more so. Then we got soft. We elected "progressives". They appointed like minded judges. We have made "progress". In some states even defending yourself in your own home from a criminal is an "iffy" proposition.. Not in my state, but many "progressive" states have made themselves a haven for criminals. Many have sanctuary cities, or threaten making the whole state a sanctuary state.

So when we see a pregnant woman in a car run down a thief, a lot of us silently cheer and wish that one of the tires had come to rest on his head. Many of us are very frustrated by our lack of justice in the justice system.

This bit of psychological wisdom is brought to you by "Judge James". (I was called that on another thread for trying to uphold a modicum of decency in the thread by the class clown.)

Your comment brought to mind this old Stan Rogers song.
