I am about to order some hoses and fittings from discount hydraulic hose.com. These will have 90 degree fittings on both ends and will run from my rear remotes to loader where I will mount on L bracket facing forward. Since both sets of couplers will be facing forward, should I orient at 0 degrees, fittings aligned? Thanks

I would suggest taking a piece of air hose or garden and run this like you intend to run the hydraulic line. This will provide a visual of how the ends should be oriented.

I would fix a 90* to either end of the machine and go with a straight fitting. I've tried to make a real orderly looking "plumbing" with pressed on 90's & 45's, but if it's not perfect the hose won't lay right (where you want it) and come repair or replacement time. a simple straight end is easy to grab locally. Don't forget to have a swivel in at least one end if using NPT. I've become real fond of JIC fittings lately.

That makes a lot of sense, should of thought about that. Do you mean one of these on one or both ends? The hose male would go into the female and the male end of fitting would go on the female end of coupler?

I like Rustyiron recommendation but I would get 90 or 45 degree fittings with swivel ends on them rather than the hose. Hose with fix straight fittings are often cheap compare to any other design or at least what I have found.

Well, something will eventually happen to the hose, if a 90* at each end does not make things too long, I'd lean towards just using a straight hose with the fittings on the fixed ends (machine). The drawback is there are more connections that each are a potential leak. If you use pipe x jic fittings (90's) then you can just use a jic x jic on your hose and no swivels will be needed.

Is this like the 90 adaptor you are referring to? 2501-08-08 | 1/2" JIC Male x 1/2" NPTF Male Pipe 90°
Would the 90 orientation be adjusted by how much I tighten it? Thanks Rusty

That's it, and yes to the orientation. Usually you can get it right (direction) but if you think your pushing your luck with "just another half turn", put some more tape on the threads. Just keep it away from the end of the fitting, you don't want that teflon tape floating around in you hyd. system.

I'm going to make a guess that you're making a set of long hoses to run a 3rd function from your rear remote - therefore you're going to have some sort of Quick Disconnect on each end - and typically they all have NPT Female threads.

I'm with Rustyiron here - use JIC Male to NPT Male 90 deg elbows and put them into the QD's and L Bracket. Then put straight JIC Female ends on your hoses. Then you have zero alignment / twisting issues because of the hose routing.

If you can give a bit more detail on what you're trying to do and/or share pictures; I'm sure some of the guys here can get you squared away right down to the part number.
