I have a 2005 Massey 492 that I bought used with 1700 hrs on it. The AC wasn't functioning properly when I got it. It wasn't circulating. We replaced the expansion valve and drier. Then it work for about 30 seconds and froze up going into the evaporator. I replaced the evaporator and flushed the system, vacuumed it for an hour and recharged it. Now it is circulating and the AC gauges are showing correct pressures. But it is not blowing cold. The compressor seems to be kicking in and out. Any ideas??

Hey might have an answer on no cold air . Try this it works on my 471 which has the same cab. On the panel that controls the ac remove the 6 screws that hold the dials in , notice the heat and air controls are seperate . I do this every year take it out carefully and make sure the heat contol is shut off .i actually zip tie mine shut because it will vibrate slightly on after a few days of running. It doesnt take a whole lot to cancel out and cooling. I also had to tighten the wire connection at the safety switch on the reciever dryer. Hope one of these helps.

The compressor is either kicking in and out or it's not. It's simple to tell, watch to see if center of clutch and pulley turn at same speed. If it's difficult to see clutch, connect low side guage to see if it repeatedly dip's then rise's. If the latter is true, you likely have too little refrigerant, wrong refrigerant, moisture in system,a defective expansion valve or trash in system.
