Sometimes the little things mean a lot. . .

When adding hydraulic fluid today I used the top link hook to hold my gooseneck funnel. Before doing that I always had trouble holding the funnel and pouring the fluid in - sometimes had to recruit the wife. Anyway, after discovering I could easily use the top link hook to hold the funnel, I thought about how little things can really make things better.

My short list:

Adding dye to hydraulic fluid (if you have a sight glass)

Learning where all the zerks are on the tractor and implements and listing those (I would always worry I had forgotten one or more zerks).

Having a lock and lube coupler.

Adding a canopy.

Having a tooth bar

Adding a tool box behind the seat

Adding a vertical 4" section of ABS pipe as carrier for chains, pruning shears, pole saw, etc.

Sticking (with velcro) a $4 Pep Boys digital clock on the dash.

And most importantly - The TBN forum

Man, you are spot on with the little things count observation. The little things like the ones you listed and more that mean the difference in the days work being a real PITI or no big deal.:thumbsup:

Good list Beowulf. And you could add a rear view mirror. Got a second tractor this spring w/o a mirror. I didn't realize how much I used it until there wasn't one to use.

Absolutely! That is really useful. Can't believe I did not think of that. I have one and would not be without it.

I added a swinging cup holder designed for an ATV, seldom has a beverage in it, usually a pair of jersey gloves and my safety glasses. I hang a pair of ear muffs on the rear flashers. I use the hollow tube in the front of the loader to store either a shovel or peavy, depending if I am doing dirt work or firewood. Love the mirror idea, put them on my quads and wouldn't be without them. Got to make a chainsaw scabbard, I have dumped it out of the bucket too many times forgetting it was in there.
