Does anyone know if there is a way to force a service regen on a 2014 T4.75 so you don't have to have the dealer visit? Is there some where to purchase the software/equipment to do this or read trouble codes? We are 3 hours away from nearest dealer cost $1500 to send a tech with laptop to perform a forced service regen which took all of about 20 minutes when he arrived.

Jack,

The software to force a regen is proprietary (annual subscription as well) and you would also need to EST (Electronic Service tool) with the DPA5 umbilical - all about $5000 - just do yourself a favor and when the flashing lights are on (indicating it is regening) do not do the override. You can do this 5 time and then the EST is needed to initiate the regen. Apparently that was done previously and that is why the tech had to do the forced regen.

There are no flashing lights when our t 4.75 goes into regen just a momemtary notification and a beep on the dash. Nothing to tell us it is still in regen mode(unlike our workmaster 33 that has two lights that come on and stay on until the regen is complete). There was no override ever attempted, I am the only one who operates this tractor. I was instructed by the Dealer to always allow tractor to do it's regen while working it and not interfere with the regen. The tractor was running at rated pto speed 540 rpm baling hay for approx 4 hours when the warning/problem light came on. The owners manual instructed me to enter the on board software using the switches below the dash and do a regen. The software wouldn't allow me to do it. The dealer had to come and do the forced regen and update the on board software.

I am very sorry to hear that you are having issues with a regen system!
On another post, I explained why I would not want to buy a tractor with a regen system, due to my experience with the same on tractor trailers. I was told that trucks have nothing to do with tractors. Maybe they don't but I have walked your in your shoes with trucks and it is NO FUN! Getting a regen system to do what it is supposed to do is sometimes very frustrating.
Best of luck to you!

Not sure why there are any issues with regen. I have put over 70k on a 2009 VW TDI and had 2 2013 VW TDI's with 65K and 50K and never had an issue with a regen. They did it and the only way I knew it was in regen the fuel economy would drop. Then when you came to a stop you could hear the fans running full blast. They would regen every 350 miles or so.
