Cooled off nice last night, house was nice this morning. Low 90s expected all week.

My mower belt is expected Wednesday so will try and sharpen blades tonight and be ready to put belt on and finish up mowing, may have to wait until Saturday morning to escape the heat.

edit: just checked fedex tracking, mower belt should be here today...

No cons that I can think of for transitional lenses except they do not work in a vehicle. You will still have to also get prescription sunglasses for driving in Texas especially if your hood is white and you can see it.

Thanks for all the tips on transition glasses. Texas driving is what I'm needing them for and it sounds like prescription sunglasses are the hot ticket.

Speaking of hot ticket, Don, tell us more about your potluck "pant" group? :)

Farmer, I have found that there are no simple answers for raising autistic children. It takes patience, maybe more than any of the other qualities a parent can offer IMO.

70°F and .10 inches rain

Off to Hilo, take my older boy boxer Flash to vet. Some dental work so has to be put under.
Then wife and I to Laupahoehoe for haircuts.
Should have time to replace a plumbing line at cottage before retrieving Flash at vet late afternoon.
Be safe
Have a great day

70°F and partly cloudy skies this morning, 86° now, going up to 90° today.

Guy down the road from us has had his property for sale for a couple months now. Asking too much, in my opinion. This week, flatbed trailers showed up from a local auction company, and a sign went up yesterday. He ran his own paving company, and it looks like he's auctioning off some of his equipment this Saturday, in addition to some household stuff. Wife was initially interested in a Bobcat skid steer he has, but saw some online chatter about it from construction industry people she knows, and is pretty sure they are going to drive up the bidding on it. He kept his equipment in very good shape, rumor has it, so he should fetch a good price.

I'm sure I'll stop by to check on any firearms-related stuff. You never know.

Good Morning!!!! 82F @ 11:15AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Off to town in a few minutes to mount the mirrors on the van and try to get them wired. Tool and rivnuts came in yesterday for the lower mount on the mirrors; funny thing is they've been on there I don't know how long without it. If I can finish that before it gets too hot I'll try to get the battery connected and see what works, and probably more of what doesn't.:confused2:

Made another call the the BBQ outfit this morning and got the same run around around about delivery. Told the clerk this was the fourth call in three weeks, and asked to speak to a supervisor. Was told that the supervisor is gone for the day. At 10:30AM? Hey, I wanna job like that. Then I asked for the supervisor's name, which I was given, then asked for the name of the person I was speaking to. Turned out to be the same gal that told me last Friday she would call me back yesterday, and I let her know I wasn't happy. She denied ever speaking to me. I'll call one more time and if I get no satisfaction I'll be talking to VISA to arrange a refund. The local hardware store carries the same BBQ for $400 more, but it would almost be worth it to avoid another round of frustration.

No spraying today or yesterday, just too windy. Which I don't mind at all, as it has been keeping the temps below 100F for a change.

Speaking of hot ticket, Don, tell us more about your potluck "pant" group? :)

It is a really good group. This is a Plant Based potluck with emphasis on health. There was no mention of animal rights because that is not their purpose. There was one person that was not plant based that came with his girlfriend - I think he will be easy to convert he really liked all the food and the added benefit of losing weight because most items contain no fat or sugar. All ingredients are listed on the dish. Some are "gluten free" (which I feel is just a distraction except for people with celiac disease). But my tamales are naturally gluten free but more important fat and cholesterol free. This is just the second potluck for the group and first for me with almost 20 people they decided to hold them monthly. I'll get pictures next time. One person really lowered his cholesterol and was able to not have to start a statin - smart guy. Since we all agree with Welcome | PlantPure Nation we were talking about starting a POD. If you get a chance you might want to see the movie - it's on netflix.

But best of all I can eat good and not have to eat my own cooking. It's always good tasting what other people cook - that cook the right way.

They will have a 10 day jumpstart online for those wanting to try this way of eating. You can either order 10 days of prepared food or make your own from recipes.

A lot of these people are new at eating plant based and with 7 years under my belt (literally) There is much I can teach them. I can't wait to share my BBQ burgers (jackfruit) and nacho kale chips with them. The tamales kind of made them suspicious of how I could make them without masa, lard, or meat and still look and taste amazing.
