Does the off centered cg mess with the SxS much?

Depends on what cq is, because I have no idea what that is...

SR, he wrote 'cg' not 'cq'.

Centre-of-Gravity.

And to answer the question (Does the off centered cg mess with the SxS much?) - No it doesn't. Plus, the Side-by-Side ATV is inherently more stable and safer than a Quad.
The SxS can carry a passenger. The Quad can not.
The SxS has a load tray (and some tip up). The Quad does not.
The SxS often has a ROPS. The Quad does not (although some attempts are being made to introduce various versions).
Both are often 4x4 capable (JD has 6x4 also).

Also, research the incidence of rural fatalities, in your area/country, involving Quads vs SxS.

Buy a SxS. :2cents:

Really depends on the SxS and your definition of a "big guy". I have an old Rhino 450 that I take all over my land, side slopes and whatever. I'm not a big guy (165lbs), and I keep my butt on the uphill side of any slopes. Being on the downhill side feels much more tippy.

I have both, just recently purchased a Polaris general. More and more, I chose the general over the quads for almost every task.

As far as being tippy, I'm 230 lbs and that isn't enough to make the SXS squirrelly on side hills.

Pioneer 500 - yes, Mule Pro FXT nope. Really depends on the SxS width more than anything.

We have both and the sxs is in use constantly at our farm, the quad sits 90% of the time unless the grandkids are around. Our farm field is on a south facing hillside and the sxs works better for us.

I have a Polaris 570 Touring that is called a 2-up. OEM designed for two riders.
