Backhoe Deere 110 TLB backhoe Quick Coupler

Hi People,

Currently I have a 2005 110 TLB with an aftermarket thumb. It is operated via an electric diverter valve which switches between the left stabilizer and the thumb.

The bucket is a 24" pin on. I am hoping to add an auger to the backhoe and I have a few questions:

- Can I simply install the JD quick coupler to make this work? (I realize that I will have to weld on ears to the Pin-On Bucket.)

- There are a few different quick couplers out there. Should I look for the "late design" or will one off a 27x or 35x series mini-excavator work? They all look very similar..

- Where should I take the hydraulic from? I am thinking of simply adding a quick disconnect to the thumb and using that to power the auger.

- I am hoping to find a PA30 with the hoe mount, are there any other augers which people may recommend?

What size are the hoses running to your thumb? You'd want 1/2" at least to run the hydraulic motor.

Yes the lines going to the thumb are 1/2".

So you don't have the 7 function backhoe with the left side pedal on the floor?

My concern with running the auger is that some of the electric valves don't hold up well under continuous use with motors.

I recommend you pick the late design quick coupler that is what I have on my 2005 backhoe. The quick coupler is easy enough to build if you have a hard time finding one. The first two pictures are of a coupler I made for Curly Dave. I had just bought the coupler on the right and copied it,

No I dont have the 7th function. The Previous owner installed a thumb which shares the right stabilizer function. You are right about the diverter maybe not holding up, but when augering isnt that relatively short duration? My experience is limited with a skid steer but I never spent more than 15-20 seconds on a 4' hole. Maybe I am dreaming with the PA30. I probably could add another valve if you think this diverter is a bad idea.

Super nice work by the way. Do you happen to have the dimensions of that late model quick coupler? I am pretty good a fabricating..

It seems there are a few different mechanical quick couplers out there. The JD parts diagram is not too clear when it comes to the 110 TLB.

I need this part to convert my pin on setup.

I have heard that this quick coupler is the same for the 110 as it is for the 27x, 35x as well as Hitachi excavators. I am just hoping for a bit of reassurance that this is true.

Hunt Tractor has them, for the tune of $900....if anyone has a lead on a used one, please let me know.

I have one I use for a template/mock up when making custom attachments. maybe we could work a deal...

measure the diameter of your pins please

Wow that would be awesome!

The pins are pretty beat up, but the best I can measure is 1 - 5/16", they may be 1 - 3/8" as well.

The hole spacing is roughly 7 - 3/8".

measured pin holes was getting approx. 1.385 to 1.390" which would be just a little over 35mm, or 1&3/8" distance between pins for pin on bucket and coupler not likely to be same. item weights approx. 40lbs before any packaging, and have no idea what shipping would be out of USA. any chance you plan on taking a vacation to mouse land anytime soon? I will be sending your template in the mail this week.

The attachment plate above you pictured should be about $250 to $300 not $900. I would check elsewhere as the cost is way to high. Check for LVB24967 as a whole goods part from a dealer. There isn't that much too one of these and is easily built if necessary.

Yes that I what i figured. The local dealer wants $950 for that...I'll keep trying. Hunt Tractor is way out on that one, they came down to $800...
