I am new to the tractor forum world so I hope that I am posting this in the correct area. I have been fighting what seems to be some safety sensor issues with a NH 6020 cab tractor. The tractor will not turn over at all and has the warning display on the dash along with what looks like the PTO speed indicator icon. This has me leaning towards a PTO safety that is not allowing the starter to engage?
I have checked the fuses and the associated fuses are good but I will check a third time when I go back out to give it another try. The battery is sufficiently charged and also reads good with a battery load tester on it. I have traced the plugs that run down below and they look to be secure. I have unplugged them to look at the pins as well and re-plugged. I did also notice that there are an abundance of connectors from harness' that are not plugged in to anything. My guess here is that they manufacture one harness that can be used on several model tractors that have additional features. I remmoved the 3 pin connector from the yellow PTO knob and tested the operation using a VOM and that also seemed to test fine. I had the NH dealer in my area order me another PTO switch just for the heck of it and should be in today. Depending on what time that item delivers, I will most likely want to go and try the new switch.
Would anyone have had similar experiences such as these and what would be some key items to look for on my next trip out to the farm? Thanks in advance.
