Still remember the new Kubota in the shop all torn down... the gut had it a week and loaned to his brother in law who filled it with gasoline!

I'm glad I don't have a picture of my 1/2 ton with 3600 pounds in the bed!!!

What did gasoline do to the Kubota that required teardown? Burned pistons? I thought it would just run unacceptably rough, or fail to start.

It's a Spy Tec A118-c, bought it off Amazon, current price is $64.95.
My only complaint is the mount where the camera slides on has loosened up a little but it hasn't effected it operation.

The Wirecutter does a lot of tech and other gear reviews, and recommends a cousin to yours, which I bought and I agree with you and them that our Spy Tec cameras are solid and reliable.

They list a whole bunch of spec and details on a bunch of cameras, but they recommend capacitor-based cameras for anywhere that weather hits extremes of heat OR cold- so that's what we went with in the $50-60 ranges, and ours are nearly 2 and 3 years old, and still working solidly.

[Except that like I said, all we've caught have been boring normal traffic images...

Oh well, I guess it's good to know we're safe...

What did gasoline do to the Kubota that required teardown? Burned pistons? I thought it would just run unacceptably rough, or fail to start.

Not sure but the mechanic said it ran until it seized... internal engine damage because it was apart and the fuel injector was mentioned...

Less than 30 hours on a new machine and it was torn all the way down...

My brother thought his motor on his mustang crapped out... he was in the freeway and it violently started to shake and the engine quit... the normal checks didn't help... asked him where he was coming from... and then he got the look... said he had just filled the tank about mile back... he filled it with Diesel... anyone I pumped enough of it out and replaced with gas to get it running and he drove it for years after...

It's a good way to blow holes in pistons or even blow a hole in the cylinder walls. Head damage is also on the table.

I don't think I have any vehicles with black box technology.

When did this start showing up in cars?

My new cars is 15 years old... the daily drivers are 1985 and 1991 trucks.

My wife did that about the 4th month we had it- out in our back forty, so I went out and drained, flushed, put in the new fuel filter, and drove it back home [after finding out what my liabilities were here on TBN- thanks again guys!]

Ironically, my F-I-L, trying to help me, put diesel in the Honda motor on out Troybilt splitter- that was actually a much bigger PITA- I had to take apart and really clean out the carb.
