Hello to all.
Not sure if this prob is specific to my rig or just general hydraulic question.
Blew a hose on backhoe. 755
Everything was working fine at the time.
Replaced 11 of 12 hoses but just gave up on 12th hose.
No leaks.
topped off fluid ran and topped off again. 10 gal fluid required.
Prob is the stick wont extend and sounds heavily straining to get to draw. However can extend stick fully using 2 levers?
Boom works fine. Swings without any prob. Can lift rear of tractor off ground with boom
Loader seems fine
Power steering seems fine
If use just the stick lever it goes about 8" and stops with clunk.
Also the bucket wont open but have been able to get it closed if use 2 levers but nothing will get it to open fully. again stops with abrupt clunk like something binding.
was very careful, I thought, about matching up hose locations.
As all cylinders were functioning fine am puzzeled.
Didnt think bleeding necesary with these 2 hose cylinders.
Have workled at it a few times with no real improvement.
Would appreciate thoughts on this.
thx, Jim

I have 2 4500's and cant say that I have ever had that problem and I have changed every hose possible. Not sure that I understand the 2 lever deal sounds like to me maybe you didn't get a hose back in the same location as is was originally and that could be the issue. I got the hoses reversed on my 4 in 1 bucket once but that only was easily figured out. How did you mark the hoses when you were replacing?? That sure is a tight fit there in the bottom pivot and then again under the platform.
My best guess is the plumbing

you've got hoses crossed

Thx for reply.
I made diagram of valve body and labeled pipes in boom. Really thought I was careful about that but you must be right. Everything worked fine before I did it. Thought would do myself favor by just replacing all at once when the one broke so I wouldnt have to go back in. Yes they didnt do us any favors with the valve body and the pivot. But I guess if I had been more careful... It must be a cross involving the stick cyl and the bucket cyl. as the boom and swing work fine. I would help if could tell in the boom which pipes coming down are the stick and bucket but they are just loose in there as the bracket plate has gone missing. Or if I knew which openings in the valve body went to those cylinders it would narrow down my choices. Likely is I will be removing most from the valve body just to get to the ones I need unless lucky and just inside the downrigger hoses. Lesson learned.
