Unsure about Ford 850 gear shift positions

I didn't even know it had a lock out, and what was there was a bit lost in the crud and dust. That would have been a real boon to know it before my trip, but hey, at least I know the tranny is fine now. Thanks Kirk!

Bad info!

A 5 speed has 5 forward speeds AND reverse.

Please learn how to use a 5spd shifter!

top gate, shifter forward is 3rd, aft is reverse, middle is neutral.

middle gate, is 1 N 2

lower gate is 4 N 5

I take it you did not read my typo correction post I added later when I realized I typed a 4 and not a 5. Oh well, but I need to learn how to type and proof read, more than I need to learn to shift gears.:mur:
