I like being able to take my soft cab off in the spring and put it on in November. Spring, summer and fall are so nice here 70-85F I like an open station. As soon as I put it on I feel confined but there is a lot to be said for a solid cab with heat and ac if you are forced to work in either extreme.

I have considered buying a cabbed tractor simply for the aspect of it being parked outside. Having all the instruments and switches with a source of protection plus the added comfort would be justifiable for the added costs in my mind.

In my situation that would be my only option due to lack of clearance from my garage doors.

Well, after the first time you park it inside... you'll have the clearance... it'll be a bit loud that first time though...

This was my problem as well. Then I realized how much air pressure Kubota recommends in the rear tires and the harsh ride 16 lbs makes. I let out about 8 lbs of air and the ride quality is unbelievably better and guess what... The cab now fits in a 7 foot door with an inch to spare.

My tractor lives outside. I hate to waste good garage and workshop space on vehicles, but agree with covering the instruments, switches, and the parts that could suffer sun damage. I bought a good canvas tarp and put quick fastening straps at the rear corners and bungys on the front corners. Works fine.
YMMV, luck....

Lots of good reasons for a cab. I agree with all of them. I am watching the weather to the south and waiting to see what IRMA does. If she comes up the coast I think I am going to load up and go to the Carolina's to work with my tractor. The ROPS folds over whereas a cab does not. It will fit in my enclosed trailer. I have never thought about doing this until now. If I use an open trailer and haul the amount of fuel I will need to take I may as well put a flag on myself alerting DOT. I still want a cabbed tractor but never before thought about using my enclosed trailer.

It's raining today. Kind of makes me think I should have purchased a cab. I suppose this winter when it is snowing I will really be whining.
