Reminds me of those parking perpendicular on some of San Francisco's steepest streets...

How does the oil get to where it needs to go when opening a door takes super human strength either to push it open like a hatch or hold on so it doesn't getaway on the downward side.

Just came across these photos I took some years ago of a guy loading a narrow front end John Deere on a trailer with only two ramps. It took him a while and was touch and go but he got it on. Maybe he's been successfully doing this for years but it made me nervous.

There is a an oil coating on the parts that takes a little bit to wear away so there should not be much engine wear as long as he does not hold it there. it is not like working consistently on a sidehill.

I think it was a different thread where I mentioned this: my cousin was a very good Trials rider. (specialized motorcycle capable of climbing over huge boulders etc).

Cousin was drafted during Vietnam and sent to Tank Driver School. Of course he had never driven one before but he was so good they held him back from shipping out and instead assigned him as an instructor. He could make a battle tank do stuff his instructors had told him was impossible. He said it was great fun, never broke anything and he enjoyed his role as instructor.

I'm trying to imagine Cousin on a skid steer ....

In Texas, my last 5 F-350's have been registered as "Farm Trucks" and license fee is $60 /year. Inspection fee is $7.50 per year.

We changed our 2001 F-350's registration to "Farm Truck", after the cost of diesel went up [before] Katrina hit and the raised the price of diesel sky high- before that it was my daily driver, because even at its routine 14 MPH average, it was cheaper to drive than our Honda Element at 19-21 MPG on avg.

We pay $2.00 annually for a new registration sticker that goes on the license plate, the mandatory $20 NYS "Safety" inspection, and full liability insurance, and can use it anywhere within a 26 mile radius of its registered address for "procurement of necessary supplies or equipment" r/t the operation of our "farm".

In our case that usually means fish food in pallet lots, gravel, topsoil, firewood, fuel for our vehicle, and whatever lumber or other materials we find to salvage and can get back to pick up before someone else does.

yup.. seen it alot, done it a few times. Not my favorite method.. but DOES work.
