Adapting Ford loader to John Deere

I think you are the only one that has a problem with it because you have 3 other things loaded on your screen.

I don't have a problem seeing the whole pictures but I will try the full size option next time.

You must have seen a screenshot of my 18" screen in another thread. There are three things displayed, the main window, the performance display from Windows 10 Task Manager and Google Chrome Task Manager.

I use the top one to monitor Network speed, the bottom one to see what is using the network and to select tabs to view. The main window is 15" diagonal, just right for viewing "Full Size" pictures on TBN.

I am moving along with the planning and it's looking very promising. Bolted the loader back on the 8N to do some testing and flush the old oil out before connecting to my JD. I hooked it to an old log splitter and ran the hose from the spool valve into a waste bucket. Just kept feeding fresh oil into the splitter tank and operating the loader valves for a couple of buckets worth. The splitter wasn't running all that good and the loader movements were jerky. I thought maybe it was pistons sticking in the cylinders due to rust or not being used. Today I got the fittings and hose to hook it to the power beyond on the JD and it operates smooth as silk. I went ahead and mounted the bucket to make sure it worked okay with that and all was good. Going to start making the mounts for the JD now.

That loader never came with a Ford 8n. Much newer loader. You need flat plates running from your loader towers to the back axle. Both sides. My Kubota L245DT has a very similar loader. Front is supported off horizontal side pieces. Down braces are 10 inches back from the front. Very doable - but must be supported front and rear. No cantilever in this design. Same loader on Kubota 285.

Went back and checked pictures. You are missing a C channel that ties the two horizontal sides together on the front end. This was designed to swing out, to allow raising the hood. [on Kubota]
You have a puzzle but were not given all of the pieces. Right side will have 2 holes for bolt to allow swing. Left side has 1 slot for bolt to tie together.

I agree that the pics appear to show no cross-bar, but I just viewed the video clip (2 mins) and it looks like a bar (of sorts) is installed there. - Visible when the loader is raised up high.

Maybe the OP has removed the cross-bar when de-mounting the loader from his 8N?

The bucket looks to be a little distorted. Maybe it's had a hard life?

Watching for progress anyway.

The tractor has the loader frame pieces to mount it on the 8N. I will not need or use them on the 855. It has a square tube running through the frame for the rear uprights and I will make the supports to connect it to the front.

Don't know what you are talking about on pieces that swing. This was already a home brew adaptation on a 67 year old tractor. It ain't no Kubota.
