2013 Kioti DK35SE Information

That is correct. While the DK35se can have the KL401, it was hardly ever set up that way. The KL401 has over 1200 lbs more lift, but it is noticeably slower. The Kl351 (which I have) has skinnier hydraulic cylinders and since the pumps are almost identical, the KL351 is snappy fast. The Chassis of the DK40se is 4 inches longer and the engine has one more cylinder too. Also the DK40se is nearly always fitted with taller tires. The KL401 is always fitted with a 72 inch bucket, and the KL351 is fitted with a 66 inch bucket.

The DK40se is definitely a "step up" literally and figuratively in the fact it is higher off of the ground, so a bigger "step up", and the loader capabilities are for sure greater, although I do pretty good with my faster but weaker loader. Believe it or not one reason I chose the DK35se over the DK40se was the wife (she has a bad back) had trouble getting on the step of the DK40se. So we got the DK35se with the shorter tires, it was much easier for her to get on. In the years I have owned the DK35se, I have not been disappointed in it.

As I have gotten a little older too, I don't mind the lower to the ground tractor either.:)

Thanks for the clarification I definitely believe the wife had something to do with the decision as did mine. I prefer a shuttle myself but the wife prefers the HTS so I would probably be running something way different for my home use if it wasn't for her. Around here the loader speed is second to lift so the 401 is more desirable for me.

Getting old sucks! I Just had an other one of those things we call a birthday and I realized I am no longer old but now qualify as ancient.

This DS 4110 is a dealer item so I'm calling Monday. Web says they are "pre-tier 4" and every way i looked that up it is what this 2014 has on it. To go on, it also says stuff that seems to me to make it, what I call simply tier 4 period. It does have the power reverse per the ad.

The DK35SE tractor- I just talked to the guy about it again to ask some questions- it came from Kioti dealer with a 5' orange rotary cutter as OE set up. How good are they-who makes them?

As a thought- I currently have a 6' BH16 Bush Hog brand that I might be better off selling and buy his with the orange hog on it?- price wise, not quality wise?
His hog is a $500 part of his price point -I see BH16's priced out of sight from $1,900 up to $3,000, so I could pocket some money by taking in the hog I don't need.
Is 73 old?
My DK40 has shuttle & I like that one best. The only time I change gears much is when I'm rototilling my garden and creep in garden then back up faster after a gear change. Handy dandy those shuttle shifts. Now if I was playing fork lift operator I'd like a HST.

From what I understand the Kioti rotary cutters are Woods brand.

I guess I read that last week. What quality level is the Kioti rotary cutter is the real question? Size is no issue as I don't hog that many acres and not often either. 5' or 6' works fine time wise. The guy said he thought the DK35SE of his would run a 6' OK.

That I don't know. I would say, just look at it, and judge the cutters overall strength and build quality by eye. My rotary cutter is a little 4 foot toy left over from two tractors ago. Needless to say it doesn't "tax" my DK35se's capabilities any. But I don't need a rotary cutter all that often, just to clean up a few brush trails once in a while.

Woods is a great "middle of the road" quality brand. Kioti rebrands a lot of their stuff from stump grinders to rotary cutters. With 35hp, that 6ft is pushing it. Though it is my opinion that if you are easy, have the proper shearpins or PTO shaft clutch in place for saftey, it would be just fine. I run a 7ft offset landpride behind my dk45seh.

Keep in mind, kioti sells a low hp, standard duty, medium duty, and heavy duty line of rotary cutters. Each line with a number of cutting widths.

A 6ft low hp duty cutter may be fine behind your tractor, but the 6ft heavy duty may be far to much for the same tractor. They should all have recommended HP ratings, I try to stick to the largest cutter that passes the recommendation.

I tried google on Woods and Kioti versions but too many models, all are not alike. Does the Woods version have the rounded corner and clutch style drive as it comes? The dealer will know which it is better than this owner on the DK35SE, I asked him which loader and they are listed with two as I mentioned above-he only knows it's all orange.
The BH16 Bush Hog is called "medium duty" but far above the discount hogs.

the newest 6ft medium duty Kioti rotary cutter is the RC3072, which recommended HP is 30-120hp I'm not sure if woods makes ALL of kiotis cutters, but I know their medium duty cutters are just fine. To the point where it's far more about how you take care of it, than whether or not its rugged enough.

The selling dealer on the DK35SE said it was too far back to remember the rotary cutter model that was added to that tractor. They dropped the King Cutter's painted orange because TSC sold them cheaper than his wholesale price. Probably is not a "Kioti" cutter though.
Mine is a Bush Hog SQ160 not the BH16 I stated above but still likely a better cutter than what the guy has on his as yes or no part of the deal. I could care less what color it is-mines standard BH red.

I'm not sure I quite get the details of a DK35SE as a higher end machine than a DS4110? That DS has a 4cyl engine, not 3cyl and has the same loader and I'm talking shuttle tranny either model. I've studied the differences on the web pages and see the DK weighs in @ 3,963#'s vs. DS @ 3,527#'s.
I remain a bit shy on the DS having Tier 4 emissions!

By "higher end" I don't mean necessarily mean weight, I mean features. Features that matter when you get older and weaker. :)
