New USPS service or Big Brother is watching?

I have not used the mail for checks to receive or send in years. All of our mail is junk stuff.

The wife signed us up,, I checked it this morning,, then the letters were in the box today.
It is kinda useless,, only flats are photographed.
We got an Amazon box,, no pic. We got a local newspaper,, no pic.
Junk mail ad from "Super Shoes" store,, we got the pic,,, :laughing:

Oh great! Now you have to look at junk mail twice before throwing it away twice, once in email once in the recycling.

I can't even remember when I got any mail that wasn't junk, except for a couple of magazines that we get. I only wrote one check last year and one the year before; just don't use paper checks anymore.

Not advocating it but I think the service would stop pretty soon if subsidies were cut off...

Your right if you mean that tghe government has no money.
It is taxpayer funded.

Post office if the only parcel service that cannot operate without taxpayer funds.

Reason is they are paying more retirees then they currently have working.

Same reason the automakers are going broke and autos cost 2x what they should.

I just signed up for this service. Our mail delivery person scatters mail all over the neighborhood. Maybe now I can see if I am missing anything. I will be surprised if it actually works as advertised (nothing else does with them) but will see.

I am not a fan of the USPS. I would like to see it privatized.

I only wrote one check last year and one the year before; just don't use paper checks anymore.

Still pay all my bills by check. Don't see any benefit to electronic payment, and several drawbacks. I generally keep very little in my checking account, don't transfer it until I'm ready to pay bills.

As far as the USPS scanning & photographing all mail, there was a show this past spring called "Hunted" (I think...it was on CBS). The hunters were able to subpoena the post office for scans of mail sent by one of the "fugitives".
Until then I wasn't aware they did this...my wife asked our local postmaster and she confirmed it.
Don't know how long they keep the info.
