PTO Link Easy PTO Adapter

I did a search and really couldn't find much on this PTO adapter that supposedly makes PTO attachment much easier. Trouble is, unlike 3-point quick link systems like Pat's, this this seems WAY too expensive for what it actually is/does. I desperately hate wrestling with PTO shafts and lining up splines and detents, but I don't know that I can justify $400 to alleviate that trouble. Has anyone actually tried this or can offer any constructive observation other than the usual useless kee-jerk "whah hael, I bin hookin up them durn peeteeohs fur years without no fangledy gadgits, ifn you knew what you wuz doin you wuldnt need to neither".

I don't see that it changes anything. You still have to slide the PTO shaft in and out. You still have to rotate the shaft to line up the pins and holes. You do have a little more visibility in alignment, but for $400, I think I'll continue to struggle with the current setup.

I see no gains in ease of use. Add proper safety shielding to the tractor side and proper pto shaft safety shielding and your right back where you started.

I do see brush/wire/weeds dislodging that keeper pin.

I use a sleeve that fits the tractor's male shaft to keep the groves clean and will wipe grease on them often when installing the sleeve back on, that helps a lot for me. That along with keeping the pto shafts out the dirt and lube normally I have no problem unless just boom mower and that is another story.

This attachment I agree is very costly and it also requires you to check each pto shaft to be sure length is not too long with it.

Part of the reason it looks easier is because there's no safety shroud over the stub.

I recently bought a replacement PTO shaft for my bush hog (one it came with, used of course, was trashed). I got a Bare Co. shaft, with their trademarked shaft cover. That cover has these ears/levers on the sides of the cones that cover the u-joints; you pop those out and can then slip the cones back so that you can readily handle the end of the shaft for attaching/removing. I think you can buy just the covers themselves, but I bought a shaft with one because I needed a new shaft (and they have nice shafts- even managed to have one that was perfect in size, didn't need to cut it).

As I recall, these people tried to spam this forum with their contraption without paying for the advertising using "Hey guys, look what I just found on the interweb. It's amazing!!"-type postings from several usernames. Once alerted, the Admin deleted them all. But not before several members commented similar to "3T's" & "Cataclysm" & "jmc" above.

This is a terrible idea. What if that pin breaks? That type of pin is not intended to be spun at 540 rpm. Let alone if you've got a 1000 rpm range. That pin is intended for trailer hitches. Only bad can come from this design.
