Welding table build.

I would love to have a welding table that nice. I'm sure you have a lot of time and material in that puppy. Any info you could share would be appreciated. That is a great build. You are an excellent fabricator.

I can possibly draw some up or give you some dimensions. I didn't really go off a drawing.

Very nice!!!! Great addition to a metal shop!!!!

I know what you mean about drawings. Only drawing I have is in my head. The size of mine was determined by the table top sheet. :)

I built this one right after having back surgery. Doc said I needed to take it easy for a couple weeks. Working in my shop is taking it easy to me!!!!

I really like your top but don't have access to the tool to build it. Very nice work. Something you'll use extensively the rest of your life!!!!

Here's some of the details. The frame is about 36" X 75.5" The frame legs and top are 2X4X 1/4 rectangular tube. The bottom frame braces are 2x2x1/4. The top slats are 6x5/8" flat bar, spaced 1.75 inches apart. The wheels are 5 inch diameter. The top of the table slats is 35" from the floor. The vice grip and the 4" grinder hangars are 1.5X 1/8 angle. The other grinder hanger is 1.5 flat bar IIRC. The tool boxes are intermediate chests I caught on sale at Menards. I plasma cut the vice grip hanger slots using some oval stencils I bought from 911 Motorsports. Things I probably would have done differently? I would have mounted the slats to the top frame first, then laid out the hole locations. They are not perfectly lined up. I might have moved the top center frame tube slightly off-center just so my mounting holes and through holes weren't next to each other, not really a big deal. I don't have an exact price amount because some of the steel I've had awhile and I also bought some for other projects at the same time. I would guess about $800-900 total. Lost track of hours, it was a lot. Drilling the slats took about 1.5 hours each. That's why two of them have three rows of holes and the rest have two rows. I would still be drilling if I went three rows on all of them. I'm also going to hang a Harbor Freight welding blanket under the slats to catch crud. Thanks to all for the compliments.

I like your's better, wont lose any nuts and bolts through holes, then for welding a fold up table, and lastly the nice screw down feet to support the severe aggravation fits from working on Fords. What's the top made of?

That was my second question, my first question is why'd he put all those holes in the top?

Strong hand tools makes assorted tooling that will drop in the holes. They are kind of expensive so it's likely I won't buy many but I'll make some of my own. It's also a welding table, not a nuts and bolts table. I have a regular wooden work bench for that.
