I have an older Kubota BX1800 with a mower deck and an LA211 loader attachment.
Was not particularly well taken care of before I bought it used but fully functional, have had it four years. A few weeks ago I noticed a hydraulic leak and traced it to the hydraulic block at the transmission that is part of the loader attachment kit. Simple part, bolts directly to the transmission and has two female screw fittings. First I replaced the o-rings there with no effect, then resealed the two fittings with teflon paste, and that worked.
Got back to mowing as grass had grown during the fix (every step a learning process for me), and soon noticed another leak at one of the hoses at the front of the tractor where there are quick connects for the loader. Appeared that a short hose had blown out. So I fixed that yesterday with help from this forum.
This morning went to mow again and noticed that there was oil in another place on another protective hose sleeve that appeared soaked with oil. Ran the mower a bit to see if it was something new or just a leftover, and sure enough I was blowing oil all over the place as oil dripped from the bottom of the tractor onto the mowing deck. It appears that a long hose that runs from the loader control to the transmission has a leak, though through the protective sleeve I have not actually taken it off to inspect it yet.
What could cause this kind of string of failures? Overpressure? Why?
Recent change:
Recently the mower deck belt loading spring attachment failed due to rust-through. Rather than fix it or buy a whole new deck, I bought a used one off of Craigslist pretty cheap. I intended to overhaul it but I also needed to get some lawn mowing done under wife pressure, so I checked everything over, sharpened the blades, and put it to use. Louder than my old one but worked fine. But very soon after noticed the first leak.
