Ps,

Engineer, and overall, it looks like we hit about @ 3%, so .6% higher than cwp.

I did read way too many statistics, and not surprisingly, there's alot that goes into those averages, including race, income, gender, geographical location.. I dont want to look at crime rate statistics anymore after that one. :)

How many do I consider crooked.. Hmm.. I knew a surveyor that hit his wife and was arrested.. Not sure if he counts.. can't say that any of the engineers I went to school with or hung out with are incarcerated... So I'm gonna call the number -nil-.

On the other hand, I met a local police officer 30 us ago thru a mutual friend..he later got busted for robery. I've had a local police officer very much try to get me to say I saw a neighbor fighting with his wife. I didn't, and wouldn't. He gave my name to the DA anyway, and wrote in his report I had witnessed it. That outright lie he told got me way too much involvement with the prosecutors office and the neighbor and their defense attorney. Bad cop lied ..directly impacted me... Lets see a lady I went to school with is married to a local cop.. He has used police resources to track and pull the luds ( local usage detail ) on her phone. I verified this thru 4 other friend/acquaintances that know the couple..

So if we are keeping tally.. I'd Sa I know of more bad cops than bad engineers...

Earthshattering info? Not really.

You said you didn't "consider" cwp as a profession. It however is a trackable demographic and can be used to compare other sample populations.

So regardless of being a profession or not, matters not. It shows clustered ideology.

So you aren't going to answer are you.

Tried to delete and it wouldn't let me, sorry.

I, on the other hand, have dealt with two crooked engineers, out of three contacts. That puts them at 66%.

I've had zero dealings with crooked cops out of half a dozen or so contacts. Which puts them at zero percent.

This doesn't hold water...how many times did you encounter any of the "contacts" in a scenario where one or more other cops were involved in a questionable situation and one of the "contacts" was the only other eye witness...???...All cops are corrupt in certain scenarios...it's just the way it is and always will be...

I deal with more engineers in a day than i deal with police.. Probably ever ;)

Untill ? A few years ago I worked at an engineering firm that had maybee 15 of us. I still work with 1-3 a week at my second job, and weekly at least with the general contractor I work for.

I still have contact with my friends from school, and a couple husbands of coworkers that are all engineers. My best friends brother and sister are engineers. ( wide variety of acoustic, electrical, industrial, civil, mining, mechanical, aeronautical and computer science ). I'm sure I knew a nuclear engineer at son point too, but can't recall his name, he worked at fl power.. But that was a couple decades back.

Again... After looking at that statistics matrix , it Is interesting. For instance, upper middle income people, from upper income families, in less urban areas, have a lower crime rate for their profession than lower income, urban areas. So money and lower population density seems to be an across the board benefit.. It appeared to apply to nearly all demographics.

Itinerant laborers in inner cities had pretty bad rates.. :(

I don't recall you exposing your profession and what percent of people in that profession you consider crooked?

I've also never claimed to have close to a 1,000 dealings with the police and yet I get critiqued about it because I take another members "word for it" per a statment they made per their own personal experience with the police.

This discussion reminds me of the book "How To Lie With Statistics".

Now you are talking about human nature tendencies. How many times have you been guilty of that? You've never been in a crowd of people and ignored someone's bad behavior?
