Hopefully you block it and do not trust the loader hydraulics.

Returning to catch-up on some thoughts:
Could the John Deere kit be installed on my 60 7 Iron deck. Never seen these on the commercial mowers?
Yes it can. The newer commercial mower decks have it fitted as standard. eg.
John Deere Parts Catalog Items #26, 27, 28.

Here the whole John Deere kit. Didn稚 know JD sold anything for $7.84?

John Deere Mower Deck Wash-Port Kit - GX22426-KIT

If you install this on a deck that didn稚 have it originally, is location critical?

That kit comprises the 3 parts I listed earlier. Bargain!
Location on the Left side of the deck is important. The left blade transfers water to the Centre, or Right side blade whichever is next in-line and so-on.
Position the washport fitting somewhere convenient between the Left Rear gauge wheel and the Left Front gauge wheel as far out-board as possible in the flat surface. If in doubt pop into the dealer showroom or stop at a neighbours and see how/where one is fitted. Drill the big hole first, install the fitting and mark the position of the smaller hole for the securing screw.

Here痴 another kit I found at Home Depot.

MTD Genuine Factory Parts 42 in. Tractor Deck Wash Kit-49-9-M61 - The Home Depot

I think the wash port with o-ring and nut would seal better?
Looks to be the same kit as the Sears kit posted earlier.

Hopefully you block it and do not trust the loader hydraulics.
Correct and important safety advice Creamer.

I can raise Mower high enough that, other than my forearms, I’m never under the Mower.

That is why I prefer my Deines. Front deck flips up 90 degrees and is stable. No straps or other devices and full access. It was the main feature I was looking for because I had a friend with a Jacobsen and a Deere at the time and both just angled up a little and you were lying on the ground reaching underneath. What a PITA! It was a great choice 19 years ago and I am still loving it.

I'm limited by age and physical condition to the blade scrape and other methods that were fine years ago. I was hoping there was a spray to create a barrier to stop the grass buildup.

You can coat it with Slip Plate. It works really well but will eventually wear off and need to be re-coated:
MowerGUARD™ Dry Graphite Lubricant | SLIP Plate

For a more permanent solution try POR-15. It costs more and requires more prep work but will last a long time. It is sold as a rust preventative but has a slippery finish once it cures:
POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating - Stop Rust Permanently

Thanks for all the replies. I believe I'll buy a mower jack, and spray the heck out the bottom side deck. My mower does have the wash port topside, but the turning of the hose with severe arthritic hands makes for a hard and painful task. Thanks again.
