OK, I am finished with this project. I replaced the clutch rod today, added some hydro fluid and everything is back to normal. Overall this project was 2 8 hour shifts and then 2 3-4 hour shift and everything was back together. I took it for a lil spin around the property and nothing seems to be leaking. Wanted to thanks Chewwy for all the motivational emails and posts on here, he was a great help. If you going to have to split your tractor and you are not in a rush to use it I would say "Go for it". It is not as hard as you think it is going to be. I had one other fantastic neighbor help me a few hours twice and we split this thing and remated the tractor. Everything else I pretty much did on my own. I would change one thing and that would be to label my sandwich bags a little better then I did. I labeled one bag cowling and I was not sure which cowling I was working on when I put things back together. I did end up with what looks like 4 extra bolts. They look like fender hardware. I also noticed I was short a few other bolts, but I think the last owner had removed some bolts from the firewall and never put them back. I ordered everything from Messicks so my tractor has the right hardware now. Thanks again for all the responses and suggestions for splitting the tractor. JOB COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!

I had 2 bolts left over when I split my tractor. I thought that was pretty good.

I figured 4 extra bolts that are small is better then having 1 larger bolt from the crankcase leftover.

Leftover bolts are only a concern when they have no paint on the heads.

Not sure what that is supposed to mean. When I split my tractor most of the painted bolts were important because. Plenty of non painted are also important.

I am just happy we can joke around about this. If something had went wrong because I had all these extra bolts then I would have been concerned. All good people.
