Anyone know the correct color grey for Kubota front end weights?

Harbor Freight HVLP lo-buck spray gun, thin (carefully) with acetone and old and battered stuff looks like new again..

I've got nine White tractor brand suitcase weights that I use on my Kubota and Ford. I painted them Kubota gray. Had a couple of them on my Ford couple weeks ago hauling big bales on the 3pt. Neighbor was visiting with me and saw them. He said he has a whole stack of Ford weights that he'd trade me for the White ones. He has a mini collection of White tractors. Will try to do that this Winter if they fit my homemade racks. I built racks on all three tractors.

He has a sharp eye. The White weights don't have a brand marking on them, just a part number forged into them. He knew them by their specific shape. :)

That's a great trade and you can use, sell or paint the Ford weights to spec. I got some NH skid steer weights under similar circumstance and they happened to fit my Kubota L4300 homemade weight bracket, which is the same metal thickness as OEM. So, I painted them the correct Kubota Dark Gray semi gloss and no one has ever questioned or noticed.

Yeah, I'd rather not have weights with a brand name cast in them because I use them on 3 different brand tractors. I do more for shape and specifically that they'll fit my brackets. I've got 4 older Ford weights. They fit my brackets but they are thin and very tall top to bottom. I don't like that because it puts the bottom of the weight closer to the ground. I'll go check out what he has. If I make some kind of trade I'll post results.

Cast iron suitcase weights are a great invention!!!!

Don't forget oil well pump jack weights. They use steel weights similar to a tractors, at least around here. I've got 1,200 lbs of them in 40 lb slabs stacked up in the garage. I plan to fab up a front and rear ballast weight bracket for the Kubota for working on steep inclines. Some of my hills I drive the BX on now, I roll the backhoe bucket round side down and out behind me a bit, and I ride a wheelie up the slope using the backhoe as a wheelie bar. It works good as long as your standing on the diff lock so that it does not turn. Fun stuff.

I've saw those weights in action on pumps out West. Oil pumps or natural gas or whatever they are harvesting. Always thought it would be cool to get ahold of some to do as you are describing.

No, no pics. They are in my 1st story garages at home. I would say I will take pics, but I'll forget over the weekend so it would be a lie :-(

I just Google image searched hanging tractor weights and thought I would see something similar, but no dice. The slot on these is in the center, and the top is cut with an ear sticking out a bit on each end for your hands to grab. The tractor ones I see all have the slot offset far to one end of the plate, none seen to be centered.

Used weights can be a real bargain at auctions or just for sale on Craigslist. If it's an odd duck, and most older ones are, you can build yourself a rear counterweight bracket on the cheap yet have a first class and compact unit. Many older ones can easily be adapted to implements like disc harrows that need weights. Maybe lawn plug cutters or whatever. I use odd weights for tongue weight on pull type implements that have to go on the road. All are light in tongue weight so it works.

Paint the odd ones the same colors as you equipment and only a couple purists will notice. I've done it for decades and never been challenged.

I grab onto every cast weight I can. I've got 4 of those horizontal V shaped plate weights that bolt to the front of JD tractors. Have a pair of JD suitcase weights. Have two JD rear wheel weights that I adapted to my Kubota. All were given to me. Those are the best kind!!!

There are some Deere rear weights that have the same bolt pattern as Ford. I have done it.
