We have rocky soil with hard rocks in my area. I need to grade my driveway, but also need to scrape some inches away near the garage. I assumed a box blade would be the way to go, but I've heard some people in the area say the box blade just bounces over the rocks, even with scarifiers down.

Can you dig down inches with a Harley Rake? I'll need to remove a few inches from a parking area, spread stone material on the drive, and general grading during the year?

Thanks!

There are different harley rakes. My OLD pro 8 with two rollers and adjustable S tines will dig out stones.

A harley is to a box blade, what an electric planer is to a hand operated one.

Haha, good analogy. So, you're saying that you can remove inches of material with a Harley, just as you can with a box blade? It'll dig down and scrape out the loose soil?

I was looking at buying this Pro6... harley.jpg

Nice machine! Better by far for what it's capable of, then the new single roller, non tine models. I understood that they could not afford to make the old ones anymore so scaled back the design.

I bought mine at auction and it had numerous issues I was not aware of. Bent roller, shattered lower bearing, busted chain, but I and some talented friends nursed it back to life.

The rear wheels look interesting. Mine are not adjustable. Are those?

Yes, they are adjustable wheels. I assume if you raise them and go slow it will dig till the wheels touch yes?

What痴 the diff between the ribbed roller here vs the tines on new models - do they dig the same?
