More likely, they are bacteria sent up on other satellites which are floating around up there in all the junk. But... it will make for splendid news when they 'match' earth's bacteria and the people begin thinking we've been seeded by aliens.

Either way, proof that the "life" can travel through space.

Life finding it's way here through space from another planet is WAY more logical and probable than any other made up creation theory I've heard. (Usually involving deities, or living on a turtles back, etc...)
Regarding the first life on earth, I'd say that space bacteria "seed" is more probable than sparking life from a mixture of base elements.
