Never heard of pickaroon before, watched some utube videos, would have been nice to have one yrs ago.

Agreed.

Bending over really kicks my butt and this makes it so I pretty much don't have to.

Well worth the coin IMO.

Glad to hear you are feeling and doing better ...

Get well soon !

Generally, though if roundness is a issue, you aren稚 using a drill bit. If you have to use a drill press, a reamer will give you a better result, and better feature control. Tight tolerances like cylinder bores are bored then honed.

It all depends on the needed tolerance. Not just specified by some clueless engineer, not just what the shop can do, but what the application actually needs to be successful. Time and again I had to arbitrate between the designer/engineer and the shop to negotiate something that didn't cost the moon to produce and would still do the job. It's a lot easier to draw 1.000" +- 0.001 on a print than it is to make it.:duh:

In all the whining, I forgot to mention that my oldest stepson passed his state exam yesterday, and is now an officially licensed Texas Peace Officer. Proud of him for setting a goal and meeting it.

A big accomplishment. Does he know what agency he wants to work for or will he be putting out his application?

Good evening all. 42F for the start, heavy overcast, light north breeze. Heavy overcast remained all day, wind picked up late, dropped off early and did not amount to much, and high temp was 55F. Fire lasted all night in wood stove, built fire back up, refilled the wood carrier, Men's meeting, leaf pick up, bike ride and Subdivision vision meeting that I missed:mad:. Wife left on an afternoon car ride to get her quilt top turned into quilt, so got to cook supper too :D . No nap so early to bed tonight.

I use to tell interior designers and architects that all the time, just because you draw a picture or Write a spec, doesn’t mean it’s practical to build.

Properly sharpened 1 "" twist drill, with the web thinned correctly, will drill about .002-.003 out of round hole. Dull drills will wander more, messing with size and location. On the NC machines we tended to use indexable carbide insert drill 3/4 inch and above, better holes less walking, and roundness/size issues.

Buckeye sounds like you are doing better, more prayer sent.

RS, the older I get the more I need to wear filters when grinding of doing dusty chores like leaf pick up. Other wise it is weeks of sinus issues.
