36 high of 50 today made trip to Charlottesville yesterday Christmas shopping then to waynesboro to look at guns but too late closed for the day. Trip home down 81 a mad house as usual. Homemade chicken and noodle soup then asleep in my chair a favorite made by Hickory Chair very sleep worthy. Maybe going to charlotte today for more shopping son is done wife up next

It is 17* this morning going to 35* and sunny. Yesterday it was in the low 40's. Did get a inch of snow in the afternoon.

Got most of the dents out of the tool box yesterday. A five pound hammer and a piece oak worked good. I'll try and get some more of the rust off today.

65°F and a scant .02 inches rain last 24 hours.

Painting prep at cottage done.

Picked up lumber for next cottage project but still on the truck. Might unload and paint it today, but might just watch football . Decisions, decisions.

Had a very good burger with hand cut chips at a place we never ate before. Excellent, but I suspect they use some sort of knife on those .

Good morning! You know you are reporting in late when Hawaii beats you. It rain 1.5" last night and it is a cloudy cold morning at 49˚. I just started the WBS for the second time this year to get the chill out of the house. Next on the agenda is to hook up the trailer and head to the Christmas tree farm. This will be the Church tree and the kids have a party tonight decorating it.

Good Morning! 52F @ 9:30AM. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 62F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

Hope your chair gets fixed soon, Farmer. Could probably be cured with a dab of weld metal and some grinding, but you'd need to know what it looked like before it wore out.

Hope all of you up in the great white north are staying warm and safe!

And I hope your back made it OK through all the furniture moves Wng.

Took most of yesterday to debate with the mechanic on how to proceed on the new transmission gear. He needs to have conversations with the two gear hobbers and the transmission repair shop to see what will keep the repair warranty in place and determine what gears are actually available. His speech impediment makes that difficult, and I can't help but wonder if that's part of why all the work needed wasn't done the first time. He does write well, though, but I don't think many shops rely on text messaging, his favorite media.



I did get enough time to finish cleaning the engine, and I think it came out nicely. Next step is to get the new output flange installed in the transmission and get that back in, but after looking for a half hour last night, I was unable to find the pin wrench I made to tighten the output flange nut. So today starts with either a treasure hunt or some time cranking wheels on the lathe/mill to make another.:confused2: It's a good thing my head is fastened on well, because I'd probably lose that, too.:laughing:
