Hitch is a drawtite that’s on the truck now but I have a curt class 5 I’m taking off my F150, works for the F350 also so I could just change the hitches.

All this reminds me that I should remove my ADAPTER for the 2.5" receiver that I have. As much as it's annoying, I don't want it rusted in there.

When you take the hitch out do you leave the adapter in the receiver?

Yes.
1 vehicle with a class V hitch.
Many hitches @ class IV.

My class 5 is 2in, made by curt. In order to get a ball mount rated the same I had to buy one that’s solid metal lol, it’s rated at 16k though, same with the ball.

I got mine out by chaining it to a tree with my truck on a small hill. I put chocks a couple inches from the front of my wheels and then used the BFH on the bar, hitting it side to side and top/bottom. I had to move the chocks as it starting sliding out but the weight of the truck did the job eventually. It fought the whole way out. Come-along would do the same. I used a needle scaler to remove the rust from the receiver.

I want a class V that sticks out a little farther than my 2" Reese. My tailgate hits my jack.....

My sister had a 2” drop hitch in her Honda Pilot. It was rusted in I had her tie off to a tree and hit it while she put some pressure on it. AmaZing how well the **** things hold. I think I also sprayed it. It had to come out as she was pulling a uhaul Trailer and I had to flip the 2” drop to a rise so the Trailer sat level.

I’ll try keeping pressure on the truck while hitting it with hammer, I have a nice little valley (old pond) that I can use, if the truck lets loose, it won’t go anywhere.

For a rusted in hitch, I'd use an air hammer with a chisel that was ground flat, or had a pad welded to it. Dose it with penetrating fluid and apply pressure with a winch or puller and give it a few blasts. It'll take a while, just a little movement at first, and it will probably fight every mm, but it will succeed where brute force fails.
