Drew, sorry I got carried away with the tractors.

Ha, it's not you who got carried away... ;)

foggy out, need to make a quick trip downtown to pay cash for the guy who is going to clean out my Super A gas tank and re-line it so it won't rust again.
Then back to enjoy the day outside.

I'd like to know why, other than the almighty dollar, they allow any passenger train to operate without one of those speed limiters. Proven tech, not yet installed on the line in Washington
that just derailed. Can you imagine driving down the highway and seeing rail cars falling around you, and even on you? wow

Dinner at friends last night...shrimp creole...very tasty...good conversation. RNG, one of the men there has a Honda bike...4 cylinders...said it has 4 carbs...I never knew they made them that way.

Before fuel injection was widely used on motorcycles, all of them used carbs. The higher performance bikes used one carb per cylinder. Honda's bread and butter bikes were four cylinder machines, which kept mechanics busy rebuilding them when they got dirty and synchronizing them when they were reassembled. Honda even made a six cylinder, a mechanic's nightmare.

That's a big reason I like twins: Simple by choice!

Thomas enjoy your time off and your walk.

All of those Honda fours with the carbs lined up were just marvels to look at, as pretty as those classic BMW air cooled fins of RNG's bike.

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 4:45AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High 56F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Rain overnight, with accumulation up to a half inch.

Randy, your wife's gifts are priceless to those who will receive them. She sets a beautiful example for us all.

Thanks for the tip on the dryer vent cleaning kit, Ron. I need to do something about the one here, as I've been here seven years and it's never been cleaned. The amazon reviews of the thing breaking off in the vent line are scary though, so I hope it works out OK for you. Maybe I'll do like one guy did and hook up his leaf blower to the line. "Watch this, hold my beer..."

Amazing that Costco and other stores can sell those rotisserie chickens for only five bux, isn't it Farmer? At least the surplus of propane these days seems like it's gonna last a long time...

Horrible timing for that train derailment. Peak of rush hour in a major city. It will be interesting to learn what comes out of the investigation. Supposedly the rail line had been only recently refurbished to take the higher speeds of the commuter train, but apparently there was a mistake made somewhere along the line...

Thanks for sharing the Christmas tree photos guys. No tree here; I'm allergic to them, and don't have the patience to fool with a plastic one.

Buckeye, hope you're feeling better!

The bear complaints have tapered off from neighbors up the canyon, so maybe they've all taken to their winter dens. Hard to imagine with it being so warm still, but for a while there were sightings every day, most with the bears getting into trash or even sniffing around windows and doors of houses. Nothing worse than a hungry bear in your own yard!

Thought I had the transmission for the old bike buttoned up yesterday. It goes through the gears just fine, but the neutral switch inside isn't working. Reached out to the online community for help, and am hoping it's a simple fix...

Also learned of a new parts supplier in Germany that came highly rated. I've been putting off the purchase of several rather expensive nice-to-have parts, and find them available there for about half what they cost here. And they have a flat 40 Euro shipping fee, so I'll keep adding things to my list and make one big purchase.

NWS says it was 51 degrees at midnight, slowly climbed to 53 now at 7 a.m. and going for a high today of 58 with 100% chance of rain.:D So I just got my 4th cup of coffee and heard the rain starting to fall. The forecast is for 1/2 to 1 inch. Got to take a neighbor to a doctor appointment at 1 p.m.; hope it isn't raining then because he can barely get around with his walker.
