Broke knob that opens bonnet

I was pushing some brush back with the bucket and apparently the little black knob you pull to open the hood/bonnet got caught on something, snapped off and is long gone. Now what? Is there an easy fix here?

I did that a few years ago on my 3550. I tig-welded a bent over loop (used a cotter pin) to the end of the steel cable where it snapped. Was pretty easy and it's been working fine since. When mine broke the inner rod was flush with the outer jacket - it wasn't possible to grab the cable with vise grips etc.

You could probably get it done with a mig welder too with a spot weld and a washer.

I replaced cable and knob then run a piece of angle across both sides of frame and let it stick out little past knob then welded it in place. I’ve not had a problem since, I let the angle lay over close to the knob and works great. I couldn’t buy just a knob they had to sell the whole cable and that can get expensive because they break easy in brush.
