Thats not true. I dont know kubotas logic for when to use a regen-only valve, or a regen + power dump. But my L3400 that I had, which is an economy model, had BOTH

Not a good idea on a tractor. #1, it will likely cost you more anyway to get a good running power head. #2, plow pumps are juice eaters. On a truck its fine because big battery and 100-150 amp alternator.

Batter on these tractors is alot smaller, and a ~40-50a charging system just isnt gonna cut it.

It is the case for modern economy Kubotas. My L3200 only had regen dump, no power dump. The new Lxx01 economy models are the same. The older economy machines may have been diferent. I'd assume the TBLs would have nicer valves like the Grands, but don't know.

I'll 2nd the amperage concerns. My L4060 required the alternator upgrade if you got the rear defroster. I'm going to guess an electric hydraulic pump pulls similar or more juice.

Checked out a video of a diverter valve. So that works differently then I thought it would. Just so I understand it, I flip a switch, it cuts off a particular function to my joystick, I angle the plow, flip the button back, and regain the control of the original function. Joystick makes more sense now.

Yes. I set mine up on the bucket curl function and the button is a momentary. Hold the button and the 3rd function, in my case the grapple, works. Let off the button and the bucket curl is restored.

Perfect. Makes 100% sense.

Now to figure how to plumb this bad larry.

I'm guessing I tap into the power beyond port?

No.

IF doing a third function, then yes, you tap the power beyond to feed the third function.

The diverter, you tap either your curl or lift hoses.

Ideally for a plow, you have a non-regen valve and would tap the curl functions.

Your current valve has 4 works ports going to the loader. (the 4 hoses you disconnect when taking loader off).

TWO of them are for curl and dump.

A diverter has SIX ports.

You take those two curl hoses and go from your loader valve to the two inlet ports of the diverter. The diverter splits them into TWO outlets. Thus the other 4 ports.

Two of those go back to the curl cylinders. The ports that are normally open. Then you put a button on your joystick. Push the button, and the solenoid swiches your output to the plow instead of curl.

So in operation.....moving joystick left and right.....dumps and curls bucket. Push button on joystick while moving it left and right angles plow

Gotcha.

So that joystick is like $400 on Bailey's. Not sure if I'm missing something, or you got extremely lucky on eBay.

Can I get away with a push button of some sort mounted on the existing knob?

Yes you can. When I set up my diverter I got the parts from Surplus Center. I was setting up the loader controls from scratch so I bought a Prince valve and the corresponding joystick which was available with a built in momentary switch. I think they may have had knobs only with the switches in them also. That might be an option for you.

Yea, I must have gotten lucky.

Alot of people just get a momentary push button and zip tie to the joystick.

Another option I have seen is automotive shifter knobs with push button. Like hotrodders use for a line lock, trans brake, or nitrous
